After a long bus ride, I was falling so sick with high temperature and vomiting continuously, arriving the homestay at night. The host Lai was very caring and offering me home cooked dinner and other snacks. He was always checking on me to see my conditions. During the stay, he sent me to buy groceries I needed and bought me food when I was too ill to go out. I felt like a part of the family being taken great care of. The homestay is a bit further away from city centre, 20mins walk will bring you to the riverside and market. Not an issue for me. They also have a bike you can use. If you want to experience true hospitality and Khmer homestay, this is your best choice. They are newly opened. The room itself is tastefully decorated and spacious. They do have a boutique shop and spa attached. Unfortunately, I could not fully enjoy it during my stay. Till next time. Highly recommended to stay here if you happen to visit Battambang.

It seems to be in a small green oasis. The staff speaks perfectly english and french, the bungalow was very spacious, clean and fresh. Beautiful pool too. I only had lunch but it was delicious. I think au cabaret vert is a perfect get away to immerse in a quiet garden. PS: try the homemade jam! I wish i had time to taste more dishes xx

Extremely beautiful and confortable hotel. The staff it’s super helpful and friendly, and the owner cares a lot about every detail. The hotel itself really well located and the staff can always help you to book a tuk tuk when needed, I wish we could have stay longer here! The breakfast it’s delicious and there are options to choose from, we will definitely come back to Batambang and to this beautiful place!

Very comfortable and well appointed property. Huge room finished to a high degree. Super comfy bed and big bathroom with all amenities. Tea and coffee and mini bar. The 2 pools are clean and fresh, the upstairs pool lacks a bit of shade. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The included buffet breakfast is also very good compared to many Cambodian hotels. In 11 years living and travelling here it is one of the best stays I've had. Will be back.

    Just a great place to stop over for a day. Staf really helpful and nice. Rooftopbar is probably one of the cooler locations in the town. Battambang could be really nice one day. Loads super nice colonial buildings in the center. But it looks like the old town of Havana where you have the unpaved streets and derelict buildings. The boat trip from Siem Reap is worth the dystopian experience though. (Buy yourself a beer cooler and sit with a couple of friends on the roof for 6 hours and enjoy the view)

    My suggestion is to stay on the East side of the river which is where Sangker Villa is situated and then walk the east side river promenade before crossing over one of the bridges. You get a great view of the main CBD on the west side that way (a lot of which is French colonial) Once you are across the bridge (depending on which one) you can head south and look at the magnificent Italianate Provincial Hall,it's stunning. Battambang is a very easy city to walk around. Street 2 1/2 just south of the market is a little oasis, cafes, galleries in colonial buildings and quite peaceful.
