The Anne Frank House is a must see in Amsterdam. I read the Diary of Anne Frank when I was around 11. It is one of countless stores of the Holocaust. It was moving, touching and tragic. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It was very busy even at 7:30am, but the walk around was very well planned out and it never seem to crowded when walking through. Remember to book a slot on online several WEEKS in advance, or you won't get inside. So I can only comment on the building's exterior as okay. It's not a palace (I didn't expect it to be), but there are plenty of other nice shops and things to explore on the block. He offered to carry our luggage up and down the very steep steps, and was available if we needed him. The location was wonderful- just steps away from a train station and a bus station. There were a lot of restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance. It was also close to a canal and the Rijksmuseum, and about a 40-minute walk (or a short train ride) to the Anne Frank House.
