They provided a breakfast basket with orange juice, fruit and pastries. They are also dog friendly and have treat bags at the front desk. Our stay was amazing. When we were checking in we were surprised to see freshly baked cookies and brownies for our enjoyment. They also provide two free wine tastings in their tasting room.

San Simeon has to be one of my favourite stops along the...

San Simeon has to be one of my favourite stops along the California HWY1 Coast Drive. Hearst Castle is a must, but also, the Sea Lions at Seal Point are also part of the main attraction of this sleepy seaside jewel in the crown of California.

The place doesn't look like much from the outside, so the nicely updated room was a pleasant surprise. Location is quiet and good for Hearst Castle, Paso Robles, Morro Bay and Big Sur (which is unfortunately still largely inaccessible because of a big landslide two years ago).

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Great hotel close to the coast. I could hear the sea from my room at night. Visited Hearst Castle 5 minutes away, and other coastal sports. I would recommend at stay here.

We were on a road trip stopping at different hotels each night, and this was the cheapest but one of the best for value for money. A variety of coffee, teas, and snacks at reception and a great breakfast included. The room was large and clean. There was a separate restaurant and the food was really good. I chose this hotel for its close proximity to Hearst Castle. We would definitely return!
