This drive is not for the faint hearted but if you are prepared it is worth every minute. The roads are all gravel, rough, broken up and falling away down the mountainsides. We rented the whole cottage and enjoyed the privacy and peace and quiet in the middle of rural country. We had the most impressive sunset ever and loved comming home while we were gazed at by the ostriches. That was so much fun! Make sure to visit the Meiring Poort and the Swartberg pass.
