Ideal for nature-lovers looking for a self-sufficient getaway, lodges are fully furnished and self-catered. Usually made of wood and surrounded by forests or mountains, lodges can be part of a group or a single unit. More remote than holiday homes, lodges are popular for safari trips.

Lovely place run by a kindhearted family.
Everyone was so nice and helpful at Shiva Lodge, we stayed there for a week. Position is perfect, just few minutes from Dashashwamedh ghat. The place is colorful and gives good homey vibes and the view on the rooftop is special. In the morning you can see from your window the line of people waiting to enter in the small temple nearby.

I had an amazing time in Shiva Lodge. The location is perfect, literally next to the ghats and the main temples, yet in a mostly quiet alley. The room was basic but clean and comfy, hot water was available at all times during my stay (always a luxury in India) and the view from the rooftop was stunning. Last but not least, the family running the place is adorable and makes you feel right at home, far from the scrum outside

I had a wonderful stay here. You will be welcomed by the lovely hosts who are kind and always smiling. I felt more safe and at home at Shiva Lodge than anywhere else I stayed during my five weeks in India. It is located right in the middle of everything.

I stayed in the only room with the view of the Ganga which made the stay all the better.
The ladies who run the lodge are lovely and very helpful. It's also really clean by Indian standards.
