We stayed with a 1 yo baby, who enjoyed the garden and the pool. A comfortable crib was also provided. A great breakfast was freshly made every morning. It’s a bit distant from the city, so make sure you have a car. Overall, highly recommended, will do again.

It’s beautiful, everything about Shanti is luxury and high quality. It’s quiet location, a short 5 minute walk into the hustle and bustle and moments from the beach, provides a tranquil and peaceful space. The staff were so welcoming and helpful from moment of arrival, and served a delicious breakfast in the morning! I was working remote and the Wi-Fi was quick and super reliable, no issues on any of my zoom calls. Everything about Shanti was just perfect and I cannot wait to return.

Traveled in Guatemala with my 2 daughters to celebrate my 50th birthday. Posada Woochooch is beautiful and is a safe little family hotel. It has a peaceful and beautiful garden. We loved the location, not too touristy, it was quiet but close to everything. Communication with staff was great. The family who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Every day their sweet dog Rocco would welcome us. We had a shared bathroom, but everything was kept very clean so it really didn't matter. Highly recommend.

Casa Austera is like living in The Blue Lagoon, I used to dream of it as a kid. It is the beach house of my dreams. I loved the open air hut and the personal fan made sure I didn't get hot. The showers were cool and refreshing after a long day surfing in the sun. The staff were the absolute nicest ever. I asked my daughter if she'd have rather stayed at the big million dollar property in the beach front and she said "no way, the vibe and staff at Casa Austera is the best in Guatemala"

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the direct laguna view cabañas and enjoyed tremendously everything: from the hosts, Bernie and Sam who were very welcoming and helpful, to the amazing views and setting, the confort of the rooms to the very nice and healthy food available throughout the day. We liked the place so much that we ended up staying there throughout our stay, just enjoying the beauty of the place. A true slow living experience!

Extremely kind and they treat you like you’re a part of the family. I was really lucky to not have many other people during my stay. The tables in the rooms is a winner for me, not many places have that and I really needed it. The WiFi is really good and I could work with no issues. You’ll need to lay everywhere with cash. The shower in the dorms is interesting, let’s say you’ll have a view right at the nature :) the water in the shower is really refreshing which is actually really good excuse it’s really hot there during the day. the forest area could use some cleaning or more organized wilderness but still awesome place. I was really surprised that there were almost no mosquitos. When you’re there definitely tent the kayak! And omg Marta’s food is freaking amazing!!! Definitely order topas (pricey but delicious!!!)

The cabins were amazing and really comfortable! They are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The bed is comfy and the net does protect you from any mosquitoes which might have gotten into the room, although I didn’t see any inside (there were many outside, but repellent kept them at bay). The staff was friendly and ready to help, and they lent us beach chairs and an umbrella to use at the beach. The pool was slightly cold, but still quite pleasant and clean! The Wi-Fi works perfectly well for working remotely, and there are sufficient power outlets inside and outside the cabins. On the TV there is Netflix and other streaming platforms. There is also a temazcal (traditional sauna) which works on scheduled days and can seat large groups. There is no kitchen inside the cabins, but there is a fridge to keep food fresh, and there is a shared kitchenette with an electric stove, near the site’s entrance, and the staff can lend you a pan to cook a quick meal. Hot coffee is prepared and served for free twice a day. There is sufficient, safe, and convenient parking space for all guests, and the staff lends you a little trolley so your luggage can be carried around easily to your cabin without getting soiled with sand. I would definitely recommend it to any traveller, and I will surely come back with my family one day! The property has one pet-friendly cabin only, so if you are coming with your pet it’s worth booking and letting them know in advance.
