The staff is so nice and remembered things like what we liked to drink for breakfast. The bed is so comfortable and soft. And it was so nice to have heat after trekking. I also really enjoyed the bathtub and it had great hot water.

1. From western (US) perspective. 2. Been coming to Katmandu for many years. This hotel is on par with a 3.5 to 4 star. 3. Oh gosh the bed! Is the equivalent to the Westin Heavenly bed. Unbelievable that this type bed is found in a Nepal hotel at this price. 4. Excellent shower and pressure. 5. 2 star amenities but who cares with such an incredible bed and shower :) 6. Did not eat or do anything at the hotel. Staff were great as most hotels in Nepal. 7.Having tried about 6 hotels in Thamel, this is now my go to spot.

Barahi was centrally located in Thamel but in an easy walking distance away from the crowded streets, giving both access to the area but more quiet feel. Taxis were well aware of the hotel location so it was easy to hop on and communicate as well. The breakfast was good and their Chia tea (Chai tea) and plain Lassi were delicious!
