Everything is the best! The view is awesome. You could see the toya river and the island from the indoor onsen. The food is good and sufficient. The room is the most spacious in this trip to Japan. I cannot find my shoes in the room because I lose the way. The snacks and fruits are decent. The hotel is nearby the bus station. I will come back again in summer.

Very nice hotel. Amazing onsen with spacious outdoor section where you can sit or lay with a view of the gorgeous lake and mountains. The onsen part was amazing and we want to come back again for longer period. Breakfast was good, excellent food and good choice, but having dish names in English would have helped (there were none).

Breakfast and dinner was superb, all the rooms have amazing views to the lake and at night we could see the fireworks right from our balcony. It was the most-expensive hotel we've been in Japan, but I would book again there!

There is supposedly a shuttle that picks guests up from a stop, but we were coming from Rusutsu on a bus, and so we didn't realize that it was only 45 minutes away, which meant we arrived an hour and a half earlier than our agreed upon shuttle schedule! Regrettably, the travel center/bus stop was closed due to the new year holidays, and so when we called the staff, someone came as soon as they could to pick us up from the spot. We were thankful they were so accommodating. To our surprise, they also allowed us early check-in and allowed us to stay until the shuttle can drop us off at the same stop for our ride back to Sapporo. These accommodations were greatly appreciated by us. But I haven't gotten to the most amazing part - the views of the lake from the room was spectacular! Winter wonderland, and enjoying Onsen in the room or in the public onsen while it is snowing, was a spectacular experience. The food was great - breakfast and dinner was included in our package - I do recommend that package because unless you have a car, you will need to rely on the hotel's shuttle to get into town. The onsen itself is very neat, clean and modern. The outdoor onsen is very hot though! I usually set my baths at home fairly warm, so I asked the hotel staff, and she explained that it is because the natural onsen that comes through is quiet warm and that she will ask the maintenance staff to check. When I returned it was about 1 degree cooler, but still on the hot side. I still enjoyed myself and went as often as I could :) enjoying the snow scenes, and the food. Highly recommend!

This is an old hotel that i like, clean and great manage. A room is big enough. The onsen is good. Car park in front of the hotel is quite sufficient (around 10 ) but there's a hotel parking lot across the road . Welcome drink is nice, there sake and some whisky for you to try.

The property is an excellent mix of Japanese tradition and western expectations. Our room was air conditioned, had a private bath, and twin beds. It also had a tatami room with futons and table that could be closed off so it’s perfect for a family. The hotel also has a traditional onsen and laundry on sight. The multi-lingual proprietors are very welcoming and fresh coffee and tea are always available. Hotel Sol also sits by beautiful Lake Toya and is in close proximity to many sights in the area.

Looking for a property with onsen?

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as "onsen," these hotels offer a relaxing soak in therapeutic, geothermal waters. Traditionally onsens were located outdoors, but a number of hotels now offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with "kuroyu" black water famous for its positive effects on skin.

The room is really big with proper arrangement. It looks better than the pictures provided in website. The hotel's set menu dinner is great with side dishes, salad, hot pot soup, and main dish with totally different menus for our two days' dinner. The onsen is great for both indoor and outdoor onsen.

Love the two indoor onsen and the location of the carpark being relatively close to the hotel. Our room faced the lake and the walk along the lake was great. This place would be beautiful during winter. The spread of the breakfast and dinner was decent.

We booked the room with the private onsen, which overlooked the lake and was utterly beautiful. We also had the dinner buffet and breakfast, which served very good food, and also had beautiful views of the lake. The staff were friendly and welcoming and treated us to a welcome drink and snacks. The hotel is large and has many amenities - we tried the massage which was excellent too.

A family of 5 stayed here in February, this is the first time we stayed in this hotel. Although my booking is not included dinner, I pay for each guest 5000yen for dinner buffet and the buffet is outstanding! Polite staff and a beautiful dining hall , most of the food is surprisingly delicious! Onsen area is super clean and enjoyable! After hot springs can buy a bottle of cold milk at the changing area and it is really soothing!! 8.30pm have a fireworks event, it makes the night perfect.
