The hospitality of the owner is second to none ,his name eludes me but he was so nice, one of the nicest hosts I've met in Japan. As soon as I entered I got such a huge welcome and help with my bags. The private onsen and breakfast are great. The hotel is in a great location, and there was great additional services like luggage storage and lughage delivery to station.

The design of the ryokan was gorgeous, mostly traditional but very sleek. The staff were extremely helpful with all questions, plus I was given written instructions on how to wear my provided yukata, book the private bath, and generally about my stay. A couple of maps were provided as well. Breakfast was provided and I actually couldn’t eat all of it! It was so generous and very very tasty. The lady in the dining area was friendly and welcoming too. My room was spacious and comfortable and came with a selection of yukata sizes and obi. I had a great view of the Main Street as well.

Awesome place with a beautiful decoration and style. The room was great with a classic japanese style and the Yukatas were perfect. The dinner and breakfast were incredible, we enjoyed everything they served. The possibility of using several public bath on the whole town was a really nice experience.

Amazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.

The hotel rooms were great. You could choose if you prefer to sleep in big comfy western beds or prefered a Japanese futon instead (there were two rooms, so enough space to get the futons out). Maybe prepare a bit in advance, so that you know what´s going on, because the English introduction at reception is a bit shorter than the Japanese one, but the staff is always really helpful and can answer your questions. Breakfast and diner were both included and were fantastic. The sushi cook in the evening was so helpful and we tried 2-3 different sort of fish we never had before. And all the other dishes were great, too. Don´t forget to stop in time, so that there is still room for dessert ;o) The onsen on the roof is wonderful. You have an excellent night view and can see the beautiful harbour area. There is an onsen for women and one for men. First there is a big room where you undress and put your clothes in little baskets. Then there is a shower room followed by a pool, a whirlpool and the lovely onsen. And if you want to spend around 200 Yen extra, don´t forget to visit the room with the massage chairs. They are amazing.

The Japanese style room was spacious and well equipped. The check-in was super easy, and the staff were informative and friendly. The location is in the heart of Arima Onsen. Dressed in your yukata, winter jacket, and clogs (graciously supplied by the hotel), you are a few steps away from the well-known Kin no Yu Onsen and foot bath. The futons were super comfortable, too, giving you a restful nights sleep.
