Just perfect!
This place was waaaay better than I imagined, the pictures and the description on booking.com do not do justice to how amazing and lovely this place is; perfect location with the most gorgeous view, homely environment with the most exciting entertainment stuff in the lounge (you could spend days there with books and mangas and games and even just the view)
Incredible staff with fluent English, friendly and helpful, everything provided generously, unimaginably clean!
and both indoor and outdoor onsens are just heavenly!
I couldn't have wished for a better place
Gora Onsen, Hakone
47 km from Fuji-Q Highland in Hakone, Onsen & Garden -Asante Inn- features accommodation with access to a hot spring bath and public bath. The property features mountain and garden views, and is 7.9 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. It was clean, safe and quiet. There is a kitchen so you can eat your meals at the guesthouse and don’t need to worry about finding food. They offer a shuttle to the nearest station and museum which was a great help as the guesthouse is a bit secluded in a quiet neighborhood. There are hiking trails nearby and would love to visit again and explore more of the area around the guesthouse.
Sengokuhara Onsen, Hakone
Featuring a terrace with views of Lake Ashi, Hakone・Ashinoko Hanaori offers a soothing hot spring bath and sauna. The property is situated a 2-minute walk from Togendai Station on Hakone Ropeway. Free Wifi is available throughout the property and free private parking is provided on site. Hotel is located near the ferry and ropeway, which makes it easy to access even though it's on the most remote side of the lake (we arrived via the ropeway, and left via the ferry). Dinner/breakfast buffets are well furnished, and you'll definitely find something you'll like. There's also an all-you-can-drink bar during dinner, which is nice if you want to try out some Japanese liquors/drinks. The hotel's onsen is very cozy, and I'd definitely recommend going before/after dinner, as it's very peaceful when the sun has set and the lights are dimmed. We had a private hot bath in our room, which was spacious enough to fit the two of us, although in a seating position only. Staff is nice and helpful, and speak english sufficiently well that we had no issue understanding each other.
Gora Onsen, Hakone

The staffs, evening entertainment, garden, restaurants, gift shop, the check in and checkout process, the hot spring tub in the patio, all excellent!

Sengokuhara Onsen, Hakone
Guests at Hakone Mount View can enjoy rare volcanic hot spring water called nigori-yu, either in a shared open-air bath or at a surcharge in a private one. The hotel offers a shop with local products, Japanese-style confectionery shop. The room was spacious and luxurious with a traditional Japanese feel. The staff was really kind and helpful. We booked our stay with dinner and breakfast included and that was the best choice, both was delicious and a great experience. Both the public and private onsen experience was amazing. I would definitely book Mount View Hakone again the next time we come to Japan :)

Just 500 metres from Miyanoshita Station, it offers indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a restaurant in a converted Imperial Villa called Kikka-so Inn. In-house onsen, gardens, and setting all big bonuses.

The wellness area at the accommodation is comprised of a sauna and a hot spring bath.
Loved our stay here! It had everything we needed and more:
• Large room with 2 comfortable double beds
• Projector, with Netflix, Prime etc. (note you’ll have to sign in if you have an account)
• Kitchenette
• washing machine/dryer
• Dining room
• Balcony with foot spa
• And the best bits, Sauna and Private indoor onsen bath in the room (with Mountain View - not Mt Fuji but it was still nice being surrounded by greenery after our city trips)
They even provided us with some snacks and drinks in the fridge which was a lovely touch!
We got the J bus from Odawara (I think it said approx 30 mins but with traffic took a bit longer!) The bus stop pretty much stops 100m from the hotel. There’s a bus stop across the road that takes you back towards Hakone/Odawara.
There’s Kowakudani Station 5 mins walk from the hotel (which will take you to Hakone and Odawara too)
We recommend going to Hakone Picnic, Taiwanese restaurant for food. The food and service was great, and it had incredible views of the mountain, again 5 mins walk from the hotel.
A little further up the hill maybe another 5 mins is a 7 eleven.
Despite not having a reception, check in was fairly straightforward (this can be done in your room) and queries were quickly answered and resolved through a FaceTime call (using their iPad). Note: details for access and your room is provided prior to your stay via email/booking.com messages.
I’d definitely stay in a Rakuten hotel again!
Hakone
Situated within 17 km of Hakone-Yumoto Station and 39 km of Shuzen-ji Temple, Rakuten STAY FUJIMI TERRACE Hakone Ashinoko offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Hakone. With lake views, this accommodation provides a balcony. The apartment also features free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. The view is absolutely amazing. I loved having a private onsen with the gorgeous view, and a private foot bath on the porch. The room is very spacious, like an apartment with a kitchen, living room, bedroom with two queen beds, washer and dryer. Plus the onsen!! By far my favorite part of my trip was staying here. The location is incredible. Walking distance from so many things including a bus stop, two sightseeing cruise ports, shopping, restaurants, the giant torii gate, and Hakone shrine. This hotel is wonderful.

Everything was perfect. Great location close to the station and alot of shops nearby. Room was big and spacious. Very clean. Comfortable futon beds. The natural hotspring onsen was very clean and so relaxing especially the open Air bath. This is a really nice Ryokan perfect for relaxing and soaking in onsen. Breakfast and dinner was plentiful and well presented.
Decent accommodation in traditional Japanese ryokan style. Four private onsens, two indoor and two outdoor that are across the road and up the street. Outdoor onsens were very nice, and it was pretty relaxed to get a time slot to use it. The owner also let us store our luggage there for a few hours after we checked out while we visited Lake Ashi. Great little restaurant across the street that was very affordable. Around 1000y pp.
Absolutely incredible staff from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. In particular, Yuuta was so helpful, attentive, and downright elegant. An EXCEPTIONAL breakfast and dinner were included with our room, prepared as Japanese interpretation of multi-course French cuisine. The view from the dining area was stunning. Absolutely wonderful. I believe all rooms include a private outdoor onsen (hot spring bath) where you can soak for hours while enjoying nature.
The private onsen in our room was amazing. Soaking in the hot spring water overlooking the zen garden was lovely.
The owners are very friendly, go above & beyond to make your stay comfortable. He dropped us at the restaurant nearby and willing to pick us up if the restaurant couldn't drop us back to the accommodation. The room is very clean and spacious with tatami floor. She prepared the futon for us. The private Onsen was a plus. You can experience the real Japanese ryokan here. It should be easy to find if you get off at Kamisokokura Bus Stop and walk 3 mins to TSUKINOYA.
We had a great time staying here! Our two-person room was very clean and comfortable, and staying in a traditional-style ryokan was a fun experience. Plus there was a natural hot spring onsen downstairs for bathing. The owner was very kind and gave us lots of advice about our itinerary in Hakone despite us not knowing any Japanese.
Wonderful stay in a charming ryokan. Food was delicious (I would highly recommend taking half-pension) and service was exceptional. I found the onsen very relaxing, it is a very warm outdoor bath with cloudy volcanic water that opens on a beautiful bamboo garden. There's also an indoor bath. They offer private onsens but the public one was empty when I got there. Room was very comfortable and they provide everything you need
lovely traditional rooms with tatami beds and private onsen, overlooking the tranquil river which provides the hot spring water. the kaiseki dinner and breakfast was a delightful spread, though don't expect to be blown away by every dish.
Lovely ryokan, with authentic rooms and onsen. Very friendly staff, hot springs were such a good experience and totally worth it. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Due to heavy rain on our check-out day, no buses were driving. The staff handled the situation very well and organized transport to the next station.
