This one being the best I've had the pleasure of staying in. The cleanliness is equivalent to some of the fanciest hotels out there, I can't overstate how comfy the common areas and rooms are. The onsen is great, although not very large. I picked the cheapest room option, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a massive room with wall sized view right into the forest, comfortable bunk beds with excellent ventilation.

This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers full-day security and private check-in and check-out for guests. Well designed, modern villa with plenty of space, plenty of sunlight, and beautiful views through all the windows. Kitchen and washing machine were easy to use, and all appliances were modern. Bath with hot spring water was incredible. Quiet little cafe right across the road serves decent coffee. The walk into town was lovely, but a bit of a steep walk coming back up. Easier with a taxi.

The property was in a great location for accessing the sights of Nikko.The owners were warm and welcoming.The food was great (especially the mashed potatoes!) and we made use of the outdoor onsen bath on the night of our stay and the following morning.

The hotel is a 30-minute drive from Yunishikawa-Onsen Train Station. Heike Village Museum is just a 10-minute walk away. Ryuokyo Canyon is a 40-minute drive, and Nikko Toshugu Shrine is 50 km away. Literally everything. The hotel is an amazing 300+ year old guest house and scenery from the rooms is amazing. This is a must go Onsen Hotel!

Along with the tea ceremony, I also had the opportunity to learn about Zen from the host, making it a truly meaningful experience. Additionally, since I had communicated my arrival time with the host via email before heading to the log house from Tobu Nikko Station, the transfer went smoothly, and I felt reassured throughout the process.

The hotel offers a hot spring bath and room service. It was nice to be able to park almost directly in front of your room. The interior design of the rooms are unique and beautiful. The room is supplied with water, drip coffee and tea, and lots of towels. Having a private onsen was very convenient and the view from the onsen was beautiful. It was also nice to have a bathtub inside. The reception building has a microwave and oven, and a small play area with some toys and books for kids. There are some DVDs to borrow (in Japanese). There is delicious rice bread for sale and it can be brought directly to your room. The manager was very kind and accommodating. I would like to come back in the future.
