This place was incredible! The rooms were very nice and clean! View from the balcony was a perfect! Rice and curry, which we ordered from Inoka to our dinner was delicious! We got so many types of curry...and pineaple chutney? Amazing! Inoka is the best host ever! She was very kind and friendly. We love you! 🫶🏼❤️

We only stayed for 1 night but from the moment we entered the door, it was like being at home with family. The house is beautiful and Ayesha and her family were so kind! They fed us an amazing feast for dinner and breakfast the next day, some of the best food we have had in Sri Lanka. The views from the house are incredible, peace and quiet away from the bustle of Kandy, although only a short drive in if you want to go to the lake, temples etc.

The villa was beyond expectation! The manager was so lovely, prepared a wonderful candle lit dinner for us, and a wonderful breakfast! Made sure we were comfortable the whole time. Our room was lovely and clean. I think it’s location is great, a short way from Kandy city centre so it’s no noisy, but still easy to get to the city with a tuktuk. Walking distance to the botanical garden which was great! The nicest property we have stayed in, in SriLanka!

Service: ★★★★★ The staff at Kandy River Lodge provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Special mention goes to the reservation manager, Mr. Sashika, who went above and beyond by offering complimentary transportation to the train station - a thoughtful gesture we weren’t expecting! Overall Experience: ★★★★★ Kandy River Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The serene riverside setting provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior experience was outstanding. Final Thoughts This hotel offers a surprisingly tranquil experience that you wouldn’t anticipate from the outside. The combination of the beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service made for a memorable stay. We will definitely be returning to Kandy River Lodge on our next visit to the area and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in Kandy.

What an amazing place! Everything was superb. From the incredible staff who anticipated my every need, to the delicious food and the variety of activities in the area. I was truly surprised by how wonderful the place was. The property is not only perfect for those who appreciate comfort, but also for those looking to explore the nearby cultural sights. The team at the house went above and beyond to make sure our stay was unforgettable! The attention to detail and warm hospitality truly made our experience exceptional. Well I don’t know where to start. I could write a book about this place. We were in love from the minute we checked in, the family made us feel so welcome. Our room was huge lovely quirky little pond in the room with a few fish. The bathroom was really really stunning made out of all recycled rocks and the room was immaculately clean. Little pool to cool down at the end of the day, amazing breakfast. We had a cooking class which was offered by Gayashan and we also had a barbecue with the family which included music. This family quickly became a part of our family. They couldn’t do enough for us. I miss the children they are so lovely, also not forgetting Bruno, kitty and their cockerel. We booked Gayashan for the rest of our tour of Sri Lanka (15 days) and what an amazing guy he is. He’s friendly, he’s funny, he has an amazing sense of humour, he goes above and beyond to make your stay Just perfect. I cannot wait to come back. This is the first time to Sri Lanka and it will certainly not be the last. ❤️❤️❤️ I waited until I was back in the UK to do my review and let’s just say I miss you so much my brother from another mother. The bond between Gayashan and my husband will last a lifetime.
