Its a beautiful place in the countryside, simple and rustic and so pretty ... the bed was very comfortable and both the room and bathroom very clean and the breakfast setting, looking at the garden and land beyond, created a very peaceful start to the day and the omelette was delicious ... the host and his wife are delightful, too!

This was our first stop in our 10 day journey across Sri Lanka and they really set the bar very high. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. The food was delicious! After a day of visiting all the historical places in Anuradhapura this hotel had the perfect atmosphere to wind down and relax. Very highly recommend!

Wonderful 2 nights stay at Village Life Mihintale! We were hosted by Gihan's parents (it is a family homestay), who was away on a trip. Although he was not on property, Gihan was extremely responsive to WhatsApp messages and gave us many recommendations, as well as made the communication fluid between ourselves and his parents. The room was cozy, very new and clean, a bit on the small side, but it really didn't matter as the quality and thoughtfulness put into the design of the room and bathroom were spot on. Plus a nice terrace space with table and chairs were we could relax and also have dinner. The bed was very comfy, 4 pillows provided, aircon & fan, minibar fully stocked (beers, wine, water), kettle & tea bags, clothes hanger, broom, etc... The shower has a cubicle so water does not flow all over the floor. Bodywash, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, hand towel, bath towel are available. We had twice dinner at the homestay, cooked by the mother, delicious and good price. All in all, highly recommended! Professional & honest service yet homey feeling. Bonus: we saw peacocks, mangoose and other small animals just by sitting on the terrace! Also easy road & parking at the house.

He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. We had an amazing stay at this holiday home in Anuradhapura. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and up to a high standard—much better than we expected for the price. The whole place felt relaxing and well maintained. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Anuradhapura.

We were received very kindly. Very clean, Very tasty food. Wimal's car took us to show the beautiful places. Wimal took us to see Wilpattu national park. Reasonable prices. Accommodation was arranged for one day and we stayed for three days. I highly recommend this accommodation.

heaven. after arriving you can forget about everything. silence, pool, birds, beer. nothing was missing. in the evening don't get scared by the cow grazing behind the concrete fence. you won't see anything but it is there. : )
