The villa is in a quiet area. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool and enjoyed the different games available like the billiard table. Aloka made sure we had great meals and showed us a river with small waterfalls in the area where the kids could take a swim which was great.

If we had not already planned our next hotel (road trip) we wouldhave stayed longer!. It‘s a little oasis, with so much kind attentive staff and amazing food, and incredibly clean pool. But the room really blew us away😍 we did not expect the rainfall semi-„outdoor“ shower, this was a beautiful suprise. The beds were very comfortable! Everything was so clean in the room and it smelled amazing. I wish we couldhave stayed longer.

Excellent breakfast, limited options. Included fresh fruit platter, fresh juice, tea and coffee with eggs prepared as per request. Very boutique property, tastefully done, spacious rooms, clean. The decor with lights really changes the mood in the restaurant and pool in the evening. Friendly owners and competent team, equally friendly pooches :)

Absolutely the best property we have ever stayed at! From the location to the food to the service and to the overall experience! The facility is a must experience for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and slow down for a couple of days! I could share tons and tons of pictures of the property and it would still not do justice to the beauty of it. I would like to thank the staff for being so incredibly hospitable throughout our stay. I wish it could have been much longer!

Fantastic place - with an exceptionally friendly staff. The service level was far higher than expected, and in a very welcoming manner. This family-run compound, set off the main road and nestled in the forest, is an absolute delight. The staff, including all family members, are friendly, warm, and happy to help with whatever you need. The food is fantastic; it is all homecooked, and they will facilitate whatever you want. We are both vegetarian and the food that was provided was the best we had eaten in Sri Lanka. The nearby beach, accessible by free tuk-tuk ride, is simply the most magnificent, untrammelled beach I have ever seen. Spotless, golden sands, warm blue water and stunning scenery. The rooms are enormous with comfortable beds, clean (outdoor!) bathroom and a lovely porch. The entire resort was spotless. We spent 11 days in Sri Lanka in total, across a range of different style accommodations, 5* to 2* hotels and this was easily the best place we stayed.

Chaminda and his team were super friendly to me. Communication with Chaminda was very easy by WhatsApp. The Cottage is super clean and very good, also compared to European top standards.

I loved everything about Halketha. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Chitra, Mary and Nelumi. We were taken to our villa across a beautiful landscaped garden that also stays true to its love for the natural environment. The villa itself was perfection - perfectly decorated, clean, homely but also provided you with a sense that you were in luxury. The outdoor bathroom was a cherry on top, with a beautiful araliya tree in the middle. During our stay, we were not only treated close to family, but the quality of service was nothing like I had seen in Sri Lanka for a long time. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, with a rich yet classic taste. The property is close to mini waterfalls and great walks. This is a stay I will keep coming back to. A reminder that authentic and wholesome experiences still exist in Sri Lanka.

We booked a hotel on Booking.com for $8. To our surprise, upon check-in, it turned out there was a system error, and the actual price was $70. We tried to explain the situation, but seeing how tired we were after a long journey, the owner offered us a free stay. We arrived late at night, and not only were we accommodated, but we were also treated to a delicious dinner. A lovely breakfast awaited us in the morning.The hotel exceeded all expectations. W e got a spacious and clean room, a huge bathroom, free Wi-Fi, and access to a magnificent swimming pool. The owner was incredibly hospitable and kind.Although we were offered to leave without paying anything, we left $8 – the amount we initially saw on Booking.com. We will definitely return to this hotel again, but this time at the proper price, to fairly compensate for the hospitality and quality of service we received.
