The view, the service, the food, the pool, the sounds (especially at sunset when the jungle comes alive and you hear birds singing like you've never heard before) – simply everything is a breathtaking experience. Sometimes you can also hear the monkeys. You have a bungalow all to yourself and can enjoy the jungle experience completely undisturbed. There's nothing to complain about. And I still can't get enough of the homemade ice tea.

This small lodge is a great base for bird and nature lovers. It is about 2km from the entrance of the world famous Singaraja Rain Forrest. You can even see the endemic famous Sri Lanka Blue Magpie in the early morning on the hotel grounds. We enjoyed the food. The owner can arrange a guide for the birding tour. We loved the tour with the guide.

The Rainforest Hideaway has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and terrace in Deniyaya. Boasting a concierge service, this property also provides guests with a water park.

Family run pension - the hosts are very friendly and helpful. Amazing location! This is a proper hideaway - the bungalows are located away from any road (the hosts would pick you up with their 4x4 from the village but you'll have to follow the narrow pathway also to reach a beautiful river cascade at the doorstep of your tiny house. Perfect place to watch nature (eagles, kingfishers, peacocks, magpies, barking deer). The family provides really good, home cooked meals, fresh juices and desserts. Treks and activities are also available. Highly recommended for anyone craving an adventure and to connect with nature. Thank you for everything!

Everything was excellent from the very beginning of our arrival. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing tea. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding—everything was incredibly delicious. Vinni and family were exceptional hosts. Beautiful location, clean room and bathroom, aircon a fan and a view! Peace and quiet amid the spectacular Sinharaja Rain Forrest. Vinni has a vast knowledge of the birds and wildlife of the forrest. A wonderful guide. The restaurant is simple and the food traditional, not boring at all. We selected a variety of of dishes - all were prepared freshly with wonderful skill. The sambals that accompanied the dishes were amazing. The fresh juices were some of the best! Vinni can organise transfers to and from Sinharaja, in fact nothing is to much. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!
