Locating the Discovery Inn was very easy as it was very close to the center of town and the ferry terminal. When I went in to check in, I was welcomed by Miriam the manager of the Inn. Miriam was super nice and an excellent source of information, from where to go for dinner to what to see on the island. We then went to the room, which was clean, cozy, and well equipped. Both my partner and I had a wonderful stay here and we would definitely stay here again. I have already recommended it to friends and family when I told them about my trip to San Juan Island!

We absolutely loved our stay at Trumpeter Inn. It's in a beautiful spot just outside Friday Harbour (we walked back after dinner 35 mins). Everything is impeccably clean and comfortable and the breakfast was the best we've had on our tour up the North-West coast. Claudia and her husband were welcoming and knowledgeable and we loved having some inside areas to chilll out as a family as well as visiting the alpacas and goats. A total gem - we suspect Trumpeter Inn is the best kept (or newest) secret on San Juan Island.

The location of the property is perfect. Central to all shops and the ferry terminal, if you have a harbor view room you will be able to see the ferry come and go throughout the day. The staff is wonderful, especially the housekeeping team who warmly greet you and make you feel at home.

Cozy family-friendly hotel with friendly front desk staff. Easy hotel shuttle to/from the ferry port. Firepit, jacuzzi, and rec room facilities were great for a group. Family rooms are large and well appointed.

Everything was great, from the easy check in through to the easy check out! The room was perfect for my husband and I. The king sized bed was super comfy. The bathroom was well stocked and the towels were thick and fluffy. There is a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and electric tea kettle, as well as coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. The inn is located super close to some restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. We chatted with the gentleman who owns the inn and he was super nice! I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever visiting Lopez Island in the future!

    Hosts were friendly and communicative. Parking was easy and access from ferry & downtown cannot be beat—we had a 530AM ferry departure and were checked in & in line less than 5 minutes after leaving the property door. We were pleasantly surprised to have AC! Did not expect that on the island. The view is incredible. We chose this over a more expensive stay at Roche Harbor, where we attended a wedding, and were happy to stay in the town and meet some of the local families, go to the brewery, see the farmers market, etc.

    On line it appears to be in a rather rural setting - garden surrounding it etc.. but actually its on the side of a major road and shares a parking lot with the public library.
