The rooms we clean, beds were comfortable, and it was a pleasant stay overall.

We arrived tired and hungry at 7pm after a long day of kayaking in Saguenay and the proprietor's answer to our request for dinner suggestions (go to the grocery store for a baguette, some paté, and a bottle of wine and eat it on the balcony) was perfect. We enjoyed the proprietor's sense of humor and chit-chat over breakfast in the morning. He kindly also let us spread out our wet camping gear on the fence and lawn to drive so that we could properly repack it before continuing our journey into Quebec where wouldn't need it for several days.

The “Contemporary” rooms are modernly furnished while respecting the heritage character of the place. These rooms have a private bathroom. Perfectly located to all the upper town attractions. Like living in a living history museum. The rooms (stayed in a contemporary room) were simple, clean and almost scandanavian design, but very comfortable beds and retained the authentic windows. Breakfast was delicious with many options. Loved our time! The museum was so well done and really fascinating, a must see if you visit.
