Located in a valley surrounded by trees, Terra Nostra Garden offers elegantly decorated rooms. Next to the Terra Nostra Botanical Park, it features indoor and outdoor pools. Free parking is available, upon request. The whole experience was first class. We got an upgraded room which was spacious and comfortable, overlooking the magnificent botanical gardens. Every morning and evening we could walk across the little bridge to soak in the natural hot pools. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, the Gardener Bar served beautiful light meals, tea and cake etc, an evening meal in the restaurant is a fabulous culinary experience.

Each accommodation at the 4-star hotel has garden views, and guests can enjoy access to a sauna and a hot tub. The accommodation provides room service and free WiFi throughout the property. We had a truly lovely stay at Lusitano Garden Villas. The room was beautifully decorated, with a thoughtful layout and most importantly for me plenty of storage space so clothes weren’t left out in the open. It felt both stylish and practical. Each villa includes a secluded terrace, which was perfect for relaxing in peace. A small addition like a drying rack or pole for towels would’ve made it even more convenient. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was cleaned to an excellent standard. The pool was a highlight for my daughter, warm enough to enjoy throughout most of the day, and a great way to unwind. We also booked a horse riding session, which was a fantastic experience. The trainer was excellent, and the horse was gentle and well cared for. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the snack menu. The pizza we tried didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the experience. If evening meals aren’t offered, perhaps a curated list of nearby restaurants that deliver would be a helpful touch.

We always felt completely safe here, which added so much peace of mind to our holiday. The cleanliness is simply impeccable – everything spotless and fresh, every day. The entire place is beautifully organized, with a layout that makes it feel both spacious and homely. The kitchen is especially well thought out: each room has its own assigned table, cupboard, and set of plates, utensils, and cooking items, which keeps things wonderfully neat and easy for everyone. And then there is Catarina – what a host! She is truly the heart of this place. Warm, sincere, and full of genuine care, she puts her soul into making her guests feel welcome and valued. She visits daily to tidy and refresh the common areas, replace the flowers, and, more often than not, surprise guests with delicious homemade or local treats. She is thoughtful, adaptable, and always ready to help – whether it’s offering great local tips or simply checking in via message to see if we needed anything. We felt so looked after and appreciated her kindness enormously. The property itself feels like a peaceful haven – quiet, comfortable, and infused with warmth and charm. Everything here has been designed with the guest’s comfort in mind, and you can feel the love and pride that goes into it. We travel often, but this stay will remain a highlight for us. If you’re looking for a spotless, perfectly located, safe, and beautifully run accommodation with a host who truly cares, look no further – this is the place! We would return in a heartbeat.

Grounds are beautiful with a banana plantation behind the hotel. Free bananas and free pastries on site. Amazing gourmet breakfast with complimentary mimosa. Amazing and welcoming staff who offered complimentary welcome drinks, upgraded our room to a room with a private courtyard, allowed late check out and it offered an honesty bar. Miguel was wonderful! Comfortable bed. Actual walk up rate can be $500 a night in high season. More than a place to sleep - a cool welcoming experience.

Wow, this new "Bed and Breakfast" was an extraordinary six night stay because of the people, facility and breakfasts. The owners were very personable, warm, and helpful. Their facility was very clean and tidy. The bed and bedding was luxurious. There were electrical receptacles near the bed for our phones. The shower has both a wand and large rain shower head with lots of hot water. The bathroom mirror was heated. There is a large common area with a refrigerator, a large table, dishes and cutlery for coffee/tea and quick snacks, a microwave and sofas. The veranda with our room was spacious for peaceful morning sun. The windows and doors have screens although there were no mosquitos. The WIFI was strong with a security password. Barbara's breakfasts were always fresh with tremendous variety. We loved the just-squeezed orange juice, eggs, pancakes, homemade spicy hummus and jams, Greek style yogurt, breads, pastry, fruit, cereals, herbal teas and cheese. We asked Andreas, our host many detailed questions about Faial and the Azores. He always took the time to explain the background, history and traditions that make the Azores a nature lover's superb outdoor destination. This personal touch added a lot of meaning to our visit. The location was quiet and only a 10 minute drive to the modern Continente grocery store or restaurants in Horta; and, 12 minutes to the airport.
