Angie and her daughter Anielka were extremely responsive and attentive! Checking in periodically to see if there was anything I needed. Made me feel very welcomed and at home. The space was large, with a full stock kitchen. The couch in the living room was also very comfortable. During the day, the house could get hot but using the air conditioner in the bedroom it wasn't an issue at all. I really enjoyed how quiet the area was, while conveniently walking distance to the main street of town. So great location!

- The pet must not be left alone in the room We like this place so much that we have returned since first being here two years ago. Marice and Luciano are wonderful hosts. Their property is a jungle oasis close enough to town but far enough to be removed from any of the noise. The place is immaculate, both inside the bungalows as well as within the well tended and manicured grounds. Home to sloths and other interesting creatures. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need to cook your own meals. WiFi connection is strong and consistent. Ample places to park if you’re bringing a vehicle. Support staff is friendly and always smiling.

Located in Cahuita, a few steps from Negra, Cabinas Algebra provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Providing a bar, the property is located within 24 km of Jaguar Rescue Center. The hostel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. This was our second stay at Cabinas Algebra, returning after 16 months. I was pleasantly surprised to see the water pressure in the shower was improved. Which, after our first stay, was my only complaint. Now I have no complaints. This property is excellent value. A beautiful paradise in nature, nearby to the beach. The mother and son owners take excellent care of their guests and the on-site restaurant is really good. Highly recommended! We will be back!

3 km from Negra, Plaza Tucanito is a recently renovated property situated in Cahuita and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. There is a private entrance at the aparthotel for the convenience of those who stay. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Beautiful property and grounds, fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, clean bathroom, air conditioning (big plus for someone who sleep in cool temp), awesome swimming pool all by ourselves, warm and personable hosts (Fabiola, Markus and David are super friendly and helpful)! The location cannot be better! It is quiet, safe yet just a short drive to the beaches, restaurants and Cahuita National Park. We took the great advice from other travelers to stay in Cahuita area rather than Puerto Viejo!! There are great restaurant options in Puerto Viejo but too busy and run down for our liking. We love our stay at Plaza Tucanito where allow us to explore beautiful beaches nearby and plenty of dining options in Cahuita town. Cahuita National Park is definitely a must visit! We went in the morning and saw tons of wildlife and enjoyed the calm and beautiful Playa Blanca! We also enjoyed Playa Grande en Cahuita : )

Selva Madre Eco-Sanctuary is a real oasis of peace just a few km out from the main road and reachable by a very good path (good to know when driving in Costa Rica). Mary is a beautiful kind person, a great yoga teacher and also a good chef as she cooked us an amazing dinner and breakfast in the jungle; she made our staying a unique experience.

Casa Moes, a property with a garden, is located in Cahuita, 48 km from Moin Port. The air-conditioned accommodation is 2.2 km from Negra, and guests can benefit from on-site private parking and complimentary WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is situated 26 km from Jaguar Rescue Center. We were absolutely delighted with the place and the people. Jacqueline and Billy (as well as their parents) are extremely sweet and friendly. They showed us all the local attractions, as well as neighboring towns. Thanks to these people, we decided to sell property in England and move here forever!))
