Bring some marshmallows for toasting. Bed was super comfy. The added extras milk in the fridge biscuits and some cereal. The sounds of nature where just what we needed. The host was so friendly. Give us plenty of info on local takeaways deliveries and some history of the surrounding area. We cant wait to revisit 😍

Great little place. We booked last minute and the host went out of her way to welcome us. The place was very clean and had all we needed for a quick stop.to Droghada and the Boyne Valley.

We stayed here for the distance from Bellingham Castle for a wedding. The room was spotless, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The entire property was fabulous. They provided taxi numbers for us to call to organise transport to & from wedding.

The Retreat is located centrally in the Medieval village of Carlingford 400 meters to the coast, it is 12 minutes drive to the local beach. There is free parking available. The location is absolutely amazing. The house is super clean and very well equipped. We were overwhelmingly with this property. Would highly recommend it.

The cottage is gorgeous and beautifully styled, spotless and so cosy and the hot tub was fab!

The grounds were like stepping back into the early 1800s. The views of the expansive fields framed the majestic horses…if you have a love of immersing yourself back in time, this place will make you smile! Like all old things, it is quirky. It is still a working farm and it’s trying to expand into the guest lodging world. The 2 bedroom suites are spacious and well appointed. The 2 bedrooms are separated perfectly by the kitchen, living room area, giving guests a little separation. The guest accommodations is a new venture, so don’t expect perfection but for the quality of the space and the magnificence of the property, it is 100% worth every penny and I would recommend to all my friends. Think rustic working farm with very nice self-service accommodation. Be sure to take a tour of Rokeby House next door, the grounds, gardens, and the host is happy to share the history of the property.
