The interior decoration is just spectacular -but not only , the hotel has a very authentic northern vibe - the views , the light , the design and location by the sea made our stay a truly unique experience - Hotel Karolina was my favorite accommodation during our 10 days trip in Iceland.

Its location was wonderful and a great base for us to explore the peninsula. We hope that when we go to Iceland in the future, we can stay here again. The house was so inviting and comfortable. The beds were incredible! We loved walking around Stykkishólmur; the walk up to the beacon was great and the view breathtaking. We even saw the Northern Lights while there. The host was extremely attentive and responded quickly to any questions we asked. What a find, this house in Stykkishólmur!

Very comfortable apartment and has everything you may need. It was very clean when we arrived and loved that they provided shoes for the inside.

We had a lovely welcome from the host at the hotel. The cottage is small but very cosy with everything you need. Heating was excellent and we appreciated having a washing machine having been travelling for 3 weeks.

Located in the country side, Hotel Stundarfridur offers accommodation 12 km from Stykkishólmur. This property provides guests with a terrace. There is also a restaurant and a shared lounge. Very friendly staff, clean, comfortable, and a great place to spot the northern lights. We saw them 2 out of 3 nights right from outside the hotel door!
