Its location is perfect for exploring the Echigo-Tsumari Art Festival, and there are plenty of onsens (hot springs) to enjoy nearby.We didn't even use the shower, preferring the onsens! ​The house itself is a hidden gem, a testament to the owners' wonderful aesthetic sense. It's filled with beautiful old and antique Japanese treasures. It is clean, well-maintained, and truly a piece of art in its own right. Above all, the owners were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit.

Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us in every aspect - picking us up and dropping us off at the train station, calling a taxi for us, etc. Also love that they have different pillow materials and varying degrees of softness/firmness for you to choose from (first come first serve), ensuring a good nights sleep.

Echigo-Yuzawa Station is 30 km from the country house and Iwappara Ski Resort is 33 km away. This accomodation was “on my route” and available ! Those were the two factors that decided my choosing it. I simply needed a bed for the night. I wasn’t overwhelmed when I saw the building exterior, but that changed as soon as I entered. The owner has done a magnificent job with the interior, the rooms, and the furniture and fixtures, it’s a little Palace. I was comfortable in this quiet neighbourhood on the edge of town, and the nearby safe parking for my car was reassuring. Thank you for a delightful and comfortable stay.

Perfect for family and groups. The host gave very detail check in instructions before arrival. AC was already turned on when we arrived which was perfect as it was a very hot day. Bonus: there’s YouTube prime and Netflix already installed on the smart TV
