But our favourite thing was the staff, they went above and beyond to help us. I would like to shout out ‘sea games’ (nickname) who was one of the nicest people we have ever met. He helped us get to places if we was unable to, always made sure we had everything we needed, and we even went on a night out with him and had an unforgettable night, one of our favourite memories whilst travelling! So thank you so much, to all of the staff who were absolutely amazing!!

Run by a German guys that made it with love and decorated very attentive to details. Water refill was very convenient. Owners and their staff are very welcoming and helpful. Nukk even organized us a free transfer to the pier though it was not in the ticket i purchased online.

Boasting a garden, shared lounge and views of inner courtyard, Baan Nara Homestay - Koh Kood is set in Ko Kood, 2.8 km from Klong Chao Waterfall. Featuring free shuttle service, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. The homestay offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Great value accommodation in the low season. Its basically a villa with 4 rooms and several open areas and terasses to relax outside.. I stayed for 5 days in the king size bed room with gallant wooden panels with a nice little bathroom. Everything was very clean and the bed very comfy. A Towel and water was provided and you can make your own tea. The place is very quiet and close to the khlong yai keh waterfall and ao khlong mat beach with a few minimarts and restaurants.But I rented a scooter for 250b from them which opened up the entire island. The owner was not there so we had to communicate through booking chat and telephone. But it was really easy and no problem at all. There was also a maid on site to help. Also the two adorable huskies who are living there provide some entertainment and are always up for a pet.

We originally booked just two nights because we were a bit unsure – mainly due to the limited number of reviews and the fact that it’s called a “hostel.” But we ended up extending our stay by another four nights and had a wonderful time! The few reviews are simply because the place only opened last year. The term “hostel” is actually a bit misleading – there are just three private single rooms (with shared bathrooms), so it’s much quieter and more private than you might expect. The host also plans to build a shared dorm on the other side of the building in the future. One of the best things is the price – it’s very affordable compared to most other places on Koh Kood. Despite the low cost, everything was always clean, especially the bathroom. The host was super friendly and always responded quickly to messages. There’s a fridge and a small kitchenette with dishes downstairs in the shared area. Each room has a shelf for your stuff and a fan, and the doors are fitted with extra insect screens. (If you’re sensitive to bugs, you might want to bring a mosquito net – there’s room to hang one over the bed.) We had one of the two rooms upstairs and loved the terrace – it was perfect for hanging our hammock and gym rings, and we had plenty of space to dry clothes. Every evening, a few tokay geckos would show up, which – as you might know – are considered good luck in Thailand! The location is also great – relatively quiet, with a few restaurants, small shops, a laundry, and a pharmacy all nearby. Ao Taphao Beach is just 1.5 km away, and the whole island is easy to explore by scooter, which you can rent directly from the host at a fair price. In short: this is a budget-friendly place that delivers exactly what it promises. If you’re looking for more luxury, you’ll probably need to spend a bit more. But for what it is, we thought it was great – and we really don’t understand the negative reviews!

Klong Chao Beach is 1.9 km from the apartment and Ao Tapao Beach is 2.5 km away. We had an amazing time here! The cozy little house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's just a few minutes' walk to the stunning beach, where we spent hours.. The area around the house is so serene and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Definitely a little hidden gem and a place we highly recommend if you're looking for a unique stay on Koh Kood.
