We loved Saranda!

Vlorè is a beautiful city with lots of bars, restaurants and eateries. Our hotel was 20 minutes from the centre by taxi which cost €12 each way that was the only slight negative. It is a beautiful and peaceful place, I would recommend it to visit. There are always taxis to take you around. Didn't do much activities apart from spa treatments as it was a relaxing weekend break. The only disadvantage of Vlorè is the distance from Tirana airport, its at least 2hrs 30mins nearly 3hrs drive.Guest review byIreneUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Ksamil is emerging as a tourist destination & the centre of the town at least seems to have opted to cater for those who prefer loud music / water activities on the beaches. That said, there is a good selection of bars & restaurants both in the centre of the town and on the main road into it. The hotel in which we stayed (Area Hotel) was excellent. Public transport is ok - there is a bus every 30 mins to Sarande or Butrint BUT it is packed & an experience in itself! Fares are 150 Lek (1.5 euro) each way. Taxis are available but cost approx 30 euro each way. Although card payment is accepted in most restaurants / hotels etc, it seems as though cash is king in Albania. We really liked Livadhi beach.
We really liked Livadhi beach. It is not too large, was quiet when we visited (late September), and has beautiful views. It is a pebble beach, so can be a bit challenging to get into the sea. The water was clear and had a very nice temperature. There are several restaurants and bars, as well as some small supermarkets where you can get essentials if you want to cook yourself. For eating out, I recommend Dimitri's, which is at the entry to the beach. Great food (Greek inspired), very reasonable prices and efficient service. We did visit the main strip of Himare one evening but were not impressed. Could be anywhere (Greece, Spain etc.) and the food we had was average at best.Guest review byJeroenNetherlands - 10.0

Qeparo is a charming little village with a lovely "shetitore" (promenade) perfect for evening walks along the beach. The village stretches along the coast, offering breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters, though you'll need to walk a few steps to reach the shore. We had no trouble finding a sunbed without reservations, and the food was delicious and fairly priced—highly recommend restaurants Poseidon and Te Stefi! The only downside was the lack of trash bins along the promenade, which left the walking path a bit messy. This is definitely an area that could be improved. The owners seemed to make the effort to provide with help and assistance, despite the lack of quality in the aspects below. For the price you pay in high season which was 45 EUR per night, of course you don't expect luxury, but some basics should be in place: - 1st of all, the photos used in Booking.com were all from the 2nd building they manage, and don't correspond with the room booked at least on 50%. - the power plugs were a hazard to be aware(when you're travelling with a toddler). - the electric stove provided was almost at half meter height, a constant danger for toddlers. - the air con could be put on only by plugging in the plug and it was configured to the coldest temperature, very annoying to deal with it during the night. - hygiene could've improved: closet was dirty on the top, full of dust, the bathroom super-small. - when I asked for a sponge and dishwashing lotion, the owner told me that I was the 1st ever to ask for that. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Hotel Amare in Palasë exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was evident — everything was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The cleanliness was impeccable, and every corner of the hotel felt fresh and welcoming. The food? Absolutely delicious! Every meal was a highlight, showcasing fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. But what truly set this place apart was the hospitality. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. It’s rare to find a place that combines such high standards of service, comfort, and charm. Hotel Amare has become one of my absolute favorite places in Palasë.
