The old town centre is very picturesque and the area around the Market Place is traffic-free. Mozart's birthpace is one of the main attractions and is very interesting to visit, and not too expensive either. I'm not too great with heights but I thoroughly enjoyed riding the funicular to the Castle for terrific views over the city and out towards the Alpine mountains. Mirabell Park is great for a leisurely stroll, and there is a small playground to keep the children entertained. The restaurants and bars are plentiful and serve a variety of different cuisines to suit all tastes, but try the local specialities such as sausages, stews, schnitzels and goulash, and there is always a good range of German and Austrian beers and lagers to choose from.Guest review byBob StreetUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you are a curious and fit person, you can find everything in Innsbruck! Culture, nature, shopping, sports - you name it. I have been there three times for 5-7 days. I am falling in love with the city more each time.Guest review byPantic - 10.0
Interlaken was the “cherry on top” of our European travels.
Interlaken was the “cherry on top” of our European travels. The views were amazing (I’ve never seen 30+ paragliders in the sky…in the ALPs no less!!!), the area was so quaint, the locals friendly; and eating Swiss fondue somehow tastes better from the Alps! Highky recommend cappuccino and breakfast at the Aarburg (Tim & His Wife are awesome & The food not only tastes amazing but each dish is a work of art!) and the Boutique Hotel Bellevue.Guest review byRichardUnited States - 8.0

Unless you are a dedicated hiker we think one and half to two days is enough time to spend there. We had already been up four mountain peaks in Switzerland so we were more interested in the area than going up another peak. Others with difference experience may have a view.Guest review byGarson - 10.0

Definitely a three/four day trip but not a lot for 2 over 80’s to do. Most stuff geared to different sports…. which is fine if we had visited 20 years ago. Julian alps really stunning, heavily wooded, a wide species of trees, certainly very very scenic.Guest review byOuida KnappUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a great place to visit. the view on Mont Blanc was impressive. you have to be lucky to get up Aiguille de Midi as access is totally depending on weather conditions. Tourist office is extremely helpful. Lots of places to eat a big variety of food. A lot of shops with whatever you might need for a holiday in the outdoors. very nice icecream placesGuest review byGodelieveSouth Africa - 8.0

A lovely town filled with shops and restaurants on the edge of a stunning lake. A great place to take a boat ride to nearby towns, go for walks or enjoy the lake with nice restaurants and shops. There are two gondolas nearby and it's a short train ride to the castles of Bellinzona or the activities near Monte Tamaro. A boat ride to Gandria is also lovely, as is the walk back to Lugano.Guest review byAmieeSwitzerland - 10.0

We stayed for 3-1/2 days mostly hiking in the area in mid-August. Many tourists but manageable. Strongly, strongly suggest buying the Jungfrau Pass so you can access any trains, buses, and cable cars in the entire area. It makes it so easy to get around Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen, First, and the Eiger. We should have booked a 5 day stay as there were some other hikes and attractions we wanted to take and see. Definitely go to Glacier Canyon and walk it to the end, but take warm clothes as the canyon is quite cool even in August due to the glacial runoff. And for sure visit the base of the Eiger. Suggest you also always get up early and get transport to your destination as late mornings (August) can be very busy and cause long lines.Guest review byParkerUnited States - 10.0

Would like to go back prepared to do the walks and hikes in the area. The old city and market were charming. Loved the Archeology museum and learning about Otzi the Iceman. Cable car and train a great introduction to the possibilities available for future visits.Guest review byKellyCanada - 10.0
Physically - GaPa is super easy to walk around.
Physically - GaPa is super easy to walk around. Mainly the walking is on flat, well maintained sidewalks. Also, If you like hiking up mountains there are plenty of trails to spend days exploring (weeks maybe?) We especially loved the mountain top restaurants. Spiritually - The Catholic Church's here (Like all over Europe) are beautiful and steeped in history. The crowds (tourists) were respectful and maintained a quiet demeanor as they walked around the church. But, for those serious about their Catholic Faith there is plenty of time in the church without crowds to spend in prayer, silence and contemplation with Jesus. Mentally - GaPa is a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The people are friendly. The mountains are picture perfect. This place has got to be on your Bucket-list.Guest review byPeter
