The rooms are spacious, ultra clean, have ample storage and have sweeping views of the mountains. The dining room and public spaces are stylish, comfortable and welcoming. The breakfasts and meals are amazing in the hotel and were one of the many highlights of our stay. As a non-skier (of a couple), the relaxation and three sauna areas and a small gym were fantastic for having some ‘me’ time. The facilities are ultra clean, and the wellness area had amazing views and was well stocked with fruit, teas, and flavoured water. There are also amazing walks nearby and we were issued a free public transport system card that could get you anywhere in the area. My husband who is a skier was well catered for in that there was a shuttle bus (to and from the lift), ski and boots storage room and a vast expanse of ski runs for his playground. The staff and the owners are the best! Bettina, and Marcus have done a really fantastic job in providing the best hospitality they can. Everything was thought of for the guest to provide comfort, wellness and enjoyment. Bettina is the best host - so sweet, warm and kind and every so often checks on you to make sure that everything is right. There were little touches too that didn't go unnoticed i.e. a welcome drink and snack, a welcome card in the room, and lovely good-bye present. All of this enhanced our stay and we were made to feel like valued guests and not just a number. We traveled from there to Berchtesgaden and it took us through breathing windy roads through the Alps. We arrived late and we were welcomed by friendly staff. Breakfast was a buffet and also a cooked option. Delicious. And the restaurant was with the view - the hotel is based in the middle of the mountains. Room and bathroom were spotless clean. This locality is the "snow corner of the Tiro" - it has snow in the valley when other resorts don't. The landscape and the village environments are beautiful and relatively without commercial architecture. The main ski-resort is brilliant - linked to Saalbach - Hin and also family friendly; Go to fantastic InterSport Gunther in the Fieberbrunn town for best value ski hire and apparel. Nearby St Jakob Buchansteinwand small ski area is great for learning and families and excellent value - get ski hire at the lift for best value. Waidring is a peaceful, friendly town. The town is so clean and tidy, mainly because the locals are proud of where they live. There is plenty of things to do, you can hike, climb and cycle to your hearts content. Very peaceful location. Small village. With great view at the Alpes. Perfect for couple or family vacations. For trekking and very close to ski resorts of Fieberbrunn 10 minutes by car or ski bus. Hochfilzen is great for cross-country skiing, its wery close to Fieberbrunn downhill skiing lift. There's nordic academy where they rent cross country skiing equipment and offer great biathlon experience for dummies. Biathlon experience was really enjoyable. But when weather goes bad, there's nothing to do there and area around. Even no restaurant is open during the day. Closest restaurants are located in Fieberbrunn or Leogang. Picturesque, original, beautiful.
Picturesque, original, beautiful. I used to go skiing here and the village hasn't changed a bit in the 25 years since. One of the most beautiful areas of Austria which has way more to offer than just skiing in winter (even if the skiing resorts are exceptional as well) - a nice lake, good restaurants and lots of opportunities for trips in the surrounding areas.Guest review byHannesAustria - 10.0
