If you are into history, architecture and museums this is the place for you. There was so much to see, so many museums that we had to create a shortlist. Vienna has such beautiful buildings and is very clean. At no time did I feel unsafe. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. The hop on hop off sightseeing bus was a good decision - we were there Friday until Monday and bought a 48 hour pass. They have a few different routes which covers the whole of Vienna and you can listen to the commentary on the bus via headphones they give you. The transfer from the airport to central Vienna was simple too. Trains and buses run. I got the bus - you can pay by card on the bus - ignore the internet info which says it has to be cash that is wrong. Was 11 euros one way. The bus VAL 1 fro bus stop 7 outside the airport takes you from the airport and the first stop was the train station near our hotel. took 25 mins.
