- From $188.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 74 reviewsLoved this unique and quaint glamping place. Owner 'Chook' was very welcoming and warm. It was such a novelty staying in a dome tent similar to the Mongolian tents but with all the comforts of a modern bathroom and toilet, and modern heating! As we came in July, it was freezing cold. Thank goodness for the electric blankets. And yet because we came in winter, the early morning frost and sunrise was amazing! The beautiful shots were well worth the possibility of being frost bitten! The friendly animals added a lovely touch to the farm. And the location is right within the Clare Valley wineries.Guest review byHwee LingMalaysia

There was a snake for the door which helped with breeze and that extra annoying light problem we all face at night, there were bins in every room, a full length mirror and the bed was very comfortable!Guest review byReneeAustralia

Nice quiet little township in the area of SA that still supports trees and greenery before going further north where it gets arid. The 'Burra Heritage Passport' aka 'keys to the town' is affordable to just about anyone and would ensure that there is some money for the council to maintain the historical locations. The Bon Accord Museum explained things that you see in the other locations and I loved the mine shaft. The guy looking after it is a real country character with lots of good stories and information, very helpful. I learnt a lot about Australian history and what life was like for settlers during my stay. The more you like reading the information provided, the more you will get out of it. In addition to the self-drive tour in the green booklet, which was nice, the art gallery was worth the visit and the town hall was much more interesting than expected, with lots of great old photos of Burra and written information underneath them. I think there is plenty within the town for a two day stay. In addition, Red Banks Conservation Park is very close to Burra. It is very remote, down a long gravel road and quite barren, with only low shrubs over most of its area, so personally, I would only walk there in cool overcast weather.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
There are many wineries in the Clare Valley.
There are many wineries in the Clare Valley. Mintaro is a short drive from Clare. There are not many attractions in Mintaro itself, but the Magpie and Stump Hotel and Riley's winery are excellent.Guest review byWallace - 10.0

Great place to stay. Lovely parrots 🦜 outside the cabin. Close to wineries and the Watervale Hotel for a lovely dinner. Quiet and peaceful location you really feel away from the city. Breakfast provided included fresh bread which is lovely and a very homely touch the owners provide. Well done.Guest review byCandaceAustralia - 10.0

Wonderfully private and peaceful location with beautiful outlook over the fields. All the comforts of home are provided and although no wifi, we were able to easily hotspot in order to do a little work whilst there. The home-baked bread and jams were a treat, as was the supply of tea leaves for people who like a nice pot of tea. Very welcoming and homely...a great place to relax and do very little!Guest review byMichelleAustralia - 8.0

There is a lot of history in and around Farrell Flat area you have Burra 10 minutes down the road Mintaro is another historic place to visit. There is a beautiful painting of a train on the silo's at Farrell Flat. I know there are travellers that are going around to places just to see all the painted silo's around their state this is just another place to put on the list to visit.Guest review byIRENEAustralia - 8.0

There is no village at Penwortham. It's just a few houses along a road between Auburn and Clare. I was surprised by how few people were around over the weekend. It was very quiet on Clare on Saturday afternoon.Guest review byClareAustralia - 10.0

Obviously we went t the Clare for the wineries and the Breweries. We were not disappointed. All the places we visited were excellent. On a whim we decided to go to th small town of Burra, we wish we had found it sooner. If you do decide to visit Burra, make a day of it, well worth th trip.Guest review byGregoryAustralia
