- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 313 reviewsThe property the B&B is on is fantastic! While we were not able to explore it all (it was pretty large), other guests with more time there said the landscape was worth the wander. The location was also great! It was central to the area we were planning to explore during our time in the Daintree Rainforest north of the Daintree River. Although, there is no electric grid north of the river, our property ran entirely on solar power so we had hot water and electricity (and Wi-Fi which we did not expect). The only thing missing was air conditioning. This made me nervous at first, but after the first night we realized the temperatures dropped enough to make sleeping comfortable (my partner even needed a blanket on the second night!). The house itself was beautiful with a fully open concept (actually open to the outdoors considering it had only three exterior walls. Being open to the elements was no issue though, the porch area had an awning protecting us from any rain. Matt, our host, was fantastic! He has been living in the area for over 30 years and knows all the ins and outs of the community. This was helpful when we realized many of the restaurants and businesses do not keep the hours they advertise all the time. Matt knew when places were open or was at least able to warn us which places might not be open when they suggested the would be. He also made a killer tropical fruit breakfast each day for all the guests and explained any fruits that might be foreign to his guests. Overall, I'd highly recommend this property and this host!Guest review byGregoryUnited States
- From $165.44 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 879 reviewsGreat location and really good restaurant., comfortable beds and good shower. Bush turkeys and scrub hens wandering around and you are completely immersed in the rainforest. We were in the accessible cabins, Escape 1 and 2 which shared a balcony with each other. Lovely and clean, each with a fridge and kettle. We ate at the restaurant (Tides) for breakfast and dinner for both days we were staying and the selection and quality of the food was very good. Well maintained pool close to the restaurant. We did Ernie's Cooper's creek cruise and the cape trib breach horse ride (both excellent) as well as three boardwalks. I wish we had had time for the fast boat reef trip, Ocean safari. Would definitely recommend staying here, it's well located and has a lovely atmosphere.Guest review byClaireUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 71 reviewsWildwood House- This is a very special property. We loved the outdoor seating areas/porches especially in the evenings and the pool was like something out of a resort. The home is situated on a large piece of property with an orchard that we enjoyed exploring. One of my favorite things was just the beauty and peace of the early mornings - it was very relaxing. We also appreciate all of the helpful information provided by the owners.Guest review byJessicaHong Kong
- From $829.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 232 reviewsThe property is absolutely stunning - serene and beautiful and the staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are gorgeous and clean and so unique. The whole area is remote (so a car is helpful) but it’s close enough to all the key things in the region. The food was amazing and everything about this place was just perfection!Guest review byKathleenUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 53 reviewsHonestly we could not have been more impressed. The setting is astonishingly beautiful, the cabins are luxurious and the breakfast is delicious. We thought the bowl of fruit was supposed to last us two days so we were very pleasantly surprised when we got a whole new one the second day! Amazing value, would definitely go back.Guest review byOliviaUnited Kingdom

Breakfast in the mornings included a lot of homemade jams and jellies that were delightful. I had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.Guest review byCasieUnited States

Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place.
Cape Tribulation is an amazing, beautiful place. You can walk along the long, beautiful beach with the ocean on one side and tropical rainforest on the other. When you walk back into the rainforest you are on a boardwalk which takes you through huge mangroves then through the tropical rainforest with a stunning variety of rainforest trees and other plants. You see lots of butterflies as well as birds, goannas and fruit bats. It is a place that fills you with awe.Guest review bySylviaAustralia - 10.0

Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. A must see if you are heading to Cairns, Palm Cove or Port.Douglas. It’s is a world heritage site. We did indigenous tour at Mossman gorge which was great. Beautiful tropical trees and fauna. Fresh healthy air. You must do it!Guest review byMichymoo2706Australia - 10.0

Beautiful location, stunning views. We stayed in large spacious house close to the beach. We took all of our own food as there were excellent kitchen facilities. The beach is stunning. The Daintree area has lots to offer.Guest review byJody - 10.0
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree.
We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)Guest review bykimAustralia - 10.0

I loved how it was close to the beach and very quiet and peaceful. With a little driving most attractions were close by or within half hour. Spending time in the Daintree was spectacular and I found most of the visitors were respectful of the tranquillity. Half an hour to Port Douglas for shopping or spending the day driving up to Cape Tribulation, river cruise, all great adventures.Guest review byKim - 10.0

Diwan is a one of the oldest parts of the Daintree Rainforest. Just beautiful !!! You need to catch the ferry over the river to get to the northern side to access this location. Need to be aware the cost to catch the ferry back and forth. Many things to do and see on the north side of the river to keep amused.Guest review byJustinAustralia - 10.0
A very unique cottage stay.
A very unique cottage stay. Private water-hole Creek for swimming. Crystal clear water. A wonderful place to escape for peace & quiet in a tranquil setting! Amos was a thoughtful and accommodating host! Fruit trees a plenty which, if in abundant and ready for harvest, you may be offered to help yourself to some fruit.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions.
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions. Highly recommended for nature lovers, hikers and anyone who wants to get away from it all. Getting away from it all includes not a whole lot of phone reception, so take a printed map. Limited groceries available so if you are self catering best to shop beforehand in Cairns or Mossman.Guest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10.0

The whole experience from the ferry ride, meandering along windy roads whilst taking in the magnificent tropical views to our destination was fascinating. The 2023 December cyclone caused chaos with the roads eroding & severely damaged, there are traffic management staff all the way with single lanes & traffic lights along cape tribulation road. Well worth a visit to support the local businesses & Heritage Lodge staff were amazing & our evening dinners were 5 star restaurantGuest review byDebraAustralia - 10.0
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there. Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds. It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options. Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience. You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit. The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space. TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.Guest review byBruceAustralia
