Country location with a city feel. Great cafes and restaurants in both Albury and Wodonga. High end shopping centre. Short drive to wineries and and tourist towns like Beechworth, Bright and Yarrawonga. When ever I am in Albury I always stock up on great produce at Harris’s Farm Markets. Very pretty town quite an interesting history. Great cafes but the night life is about what you would expect. Fantastic art gallery near the river and an arts centre as well. Everything you could need in terms of shopping. Lots of cool day trips on offer as well. I would visit again but always in spring, never go in winter or summer! Great spot on the banks of the Murray with interesting...
Great spot on the banks of the Murray with interesting history not just in the Port but throughout the township where guidance plaques tell of its rich history. Echuca is also a base for paddle steamer trips that can last hours or days - and this comes with particular recommendation as one of the most relaxing trips we've done. Three nights on the PS Emmylou was regenerating - as we glided down the Murray to the heartbeat of the paddles gently massaging our ears. We floated past remote bushland with wedge tailed eagles circling high in the sky and Galahs screeching their welcome to some of the most majestic scenery on the planet.Guest review byDudleyAustralia - 10.0

I come up for the Echuca blues Festival but prefer to stay in Moama its a nice quiet Town and only a few Klm to Echuca, has changed a lot since the 70s. About $20.00 for a cab into Echuca. Should have a bus running constant for the Blues fes as parking can be a nightmare. The Blues bus runs on the Saturday only which I think is free. Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border. It lacks much in the way of heritage, with only the old railway station (now a trendy cafe area) as any real form of architecture. Actually, there is not much in Mulwalla except a lot of accommodation, mainly around the Lake. The main town, Yarrawonga, is on the Victorian side of the bridge connecting the two. The main activities in the area centre around the fresh water lake: fishing, swimming, canoeing, water skiing. Rutherglen is an interesting small town in the north east of Victoria and vineyard country. Many old and well maintained houses and commercial buildings. A pleasant main street with interesting shops and good coffee.
