Darwin had a really good vibe, quite a tropical feel about it. We found it very clean in all areas we visited and lots of things to do while staying there. Most places are not too far in distance but we think you definitely need a car to make that easier plus for us it was extremely hot when we were there so walking wasn't really an option. We ate at a couple of great restaurants. Highly recommend Hunuman's & Pee Wee. Both great food and atmosphere! We did the jumping Croc tour on the Adelaide River which we enjoyed and spent a full day exploring Litchfield National Park and surrounds. So much to do. We definitely needed more time to explore but loved every minute of our stay!Guest review byS & B AquilinaAustralia - 8.0

Telegraph Station, The Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air are all exceptional and very much worth a visit. Anzac Hill provides a good view of Alice Springs and is perfect for an evening sunset. Bojangles Saloon & Dining Room is great for lunch, offers a really unique atmosphere. Alice Springs is 'Dry' Mondays and Tuesdays so if you would like to partake in a glass of wine or a cold beer you will need to acquire these ahead of time.Guest review byCherylAustralia - 6.0

Having visited Ayers Rock 40 years ago the entire handling of mass tourism has dramatically altered today's experience. This area is no longer affordable/accessible for the average Joe - a meal for four at the main restaurant is over $250! Tours are run by a large organization and cost $$$ Because of the excessive heat, you are really limited to early morning or late afternoon outdoor excursions and a trip to Kings Canyon (which is a real must) is also expensive and requires at least a day or two.Guest review byAndrewAustralia - 10.0

We stayed in Katherine for one night at Gorge View, had a meal of crocodile and Barramundi at the Katherine Club on O'shea Terrace, next morning went to the Katherine Outback Experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and had lunch at the New Shanghai restaurant. Only regret is that we didn't visit the Katherine School of the Air.Guest review byRowland - 6.0

we travelled using car hire and had to pay excess due to the extra klms traveling from Darwin. we used the car to travell to visit other sites which were some distance away. but on reflexation we may have travelled less klm if tourism maps were better,Guest review byDarylAustralia - 10.0

The rim walk is a wonderful and "character building" experience! Steel yourself for the long and steep initial climb, take your time and you will be rewarded with a spectacular and beautiful walk knowing the worst is over at the start. It's not easy, but I managed it at 74 without being particularly fit and with little preliminary training. Definitely best attempted during the cooler months - I was there in July/August and it was not very hot and no flies!Guest review byGeoff - 6.0

Ours was only an overnight stop to break a long drive from Alice Springs to Mount Isa. We checked in, had a drink at the club and next morning moved on so would not be able to give an opinion one way or the other.Guest review byPeter DostineAustralia - 6.0
It is pretty close to Uluru which is why we stayed there.
It is pretty close to Uluru which is why we stayed there. The pool looked alright but we didn't have the time to get in really. The food in the restaurant was good. I am not sure, but it seemed the fuel was relatively expensive, so I think next time I might fuel up a bit further away from the Uluru turnoff. Fuel is expensive at Uluru too. The surroundings were peaceful. Rooms were basic and might have easily been more hospitably set up but were clean.Guest review byJanetAustralia - 8.0

Didn't visit Batchelor itself but Litchfield Tourist Park was well situated for visiting all the amazing natural sites. One road only through park unless you have 4wd vehicle. Some of the pools aren't open all year round due to Croc danger but one's that are open are fantastic for a refreshing dip.Guest review byKathyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
I liked the facilities and friendly service by staff.
I liked the facilities and friendly service by staff. I would recommend to stock up on citronella candles or insect repellant if you wish to enjoy the outside common areas as mosquitoes are everywhere once dusk is approaching. Overall I would stay at this place again if travelling through to Darwin again and highly recommend to other travellersGuest review bySavsNew Zealand
