My husband was able to hire a bike and had a pleasant ride out as far as Bluey's World. A very interesting and multi-cultural town with a diverse range of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and shops, a very large country town that also hosts a wonderful flower show mid-September. Also an amazing new airport just out of town called Wellcamp indicates this is an elevated - go ahead - rural town with some lovely real estate features, great schools and landmark views over the Lockyer Valley. In fact the other "table land towns" Dalby, Warwick, Stanthorpe and many. many more provide a great insight into rural Australia. Port Douglas is the perfect place to set your own pace. Our location made it easy to get around by foot no need for transport. Gorgeous weather, with a very relaxed atmosphere, there is something for everyone to do. Treat yourself to a meal at Seabean Tapas and Bar well worth it.
