- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 217 reviewsA very interesting proposition for guests wanting to relax during their travels in the pleasant and unique atmosphere of a peaceful Belgian village. The owners are very friendly, and the breakfast is very good. The spacious room is clean and comfortable. The view from the window is simply spectacular: sheep grazing on lush green grass, fields stretching to the horizon, and in the distance, the tower of a charming church. Convenient parking right under the hotel. We recommend this property with full confidence.Guest review byMałgorzataPoland

Good place to stay for the locale.
Good place to stay for the locale. I was heading up to the coast near Ostend, also to Newport & Coxyde. So ideal. Also went to Oudenburg. Jabekke is a small town. Not too much going on. Basic facilities but as I had a car this was not a problem.Guest review bySydenham_JohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Such a beautiful part of the country.
Such a beautiful part of the country. We loved bicycling around the countryside and taking our bikes into old town. The local walking tours were informative and interesting. It's a wonderful place to be!Guest review bySarahUnited States - 10.0

The Van der Valk at Oostkamp is ideal for those travelling from Calais / Folkstone and onward to central Europe. For us, it's the perfect distance from Sheffield on our way to Germany. It has wonderful facilities, a great restaurant and bar. It is a short distance (less than 250m) from the E40 and there are petrol (gas) stations nearby to fill up. Balconies on the upper storeys and terraces on the lower floors, are for those who like to get outside their room for fresh air. The very minor drawback is the constant sussurance from the traffic on the E40. We've stayed multiple times and shall stay there again.Guest review byRalphUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The flat is in a great location, really easy to get into Bruges. There are a couple of good supermarkets near by for any items you may need. We visited Cafe St Alooi for a couple of drinks, staff were very friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend the food at Ten Voute, it was exceptional.Guest review byJoanneUnited Kingdom - 6.0
When visiting the town, it's important to note that on...
When visiting the town, it's important to note that on Sundays, most establishments are closed. Therefore, it's advisable to ensure you have all the necessities from the store before then. Despite this, the local residents in the town are exceptionally friendly and nice, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Regarding dining options, there are limited choices available if you don't consume beef. However, we discovered an absolute gem called Chens Garden. We had the pleasure of dining there and were delighted to find it to be the best Chinese restaurant we have encountered in years. Sun, our waiter, provided outstanding service, demonstrating accommodation, helpfulness, and kindness. We highly recommend dining at Chens Garden. You can find more information about them at http://www.chensgardentorhout.be/. During our visit, we took a drive to Ostend and had lunch there. It was a straightforward journey, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town. We particularly admired the beautiful church and had a pleasant time walking around the port area. Staying outside of the tourist hub provided a unique and enjoyable experience. Overall, despite the limited dining options for non-beef eaters and the Sunday closures, our visit to the town was made memorable by the friendly locals and the exceptional dining experience at Chens Garden. Exploring Ostend added another layer of enjoyment, with its stunning church and picturesque port. We recommend venturing beyond the tourist areas to truly appreciate the town's charm.Guest review byStuart J HamiltonUnited States - 8.0

It was ok for what we paid and I thought location to Brugge was good. The local shops in town closed fairly early so this limited us. Overall room was fine and bed was too comfy and I would have asked fro a better room view but there is an option to pay a little more fro a better view. The staff were helpful and friendly overall I would stay againGuest review byThomasUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The cottage was perfect for us and the dog, with a comfortable lounge and dining area, the large glass doors at the rear flooded this area with light. Well equipped and tidy kitchen area, the bedrooms were light and airy, with fly screens and blinds and comfortable beds. The village ahs a lovely bakery which is within walking distance of the cottage and a secure playing field to run around in. We had a fabulous day out in Bruges which was a short distance away visiting the market and main town areas. The day we had a Nieuwpoort was very bracing and we visited the military cemetery and memorials. Tijl was very helpful and must congratulate him on the sustainable measures he takes for this business.Guest review byCaroleUnited Kingdom - 10.0

very charming very little place, excellent night illumination, some good restaurants and bars (but empty after 21:00), fabulous canals with very good biking facilities, close to Brugge and to the sea. beautiful night exhibition of old telephone cells which read you poems, houses full of little taken care of details, nice churches and some historical buildingsGuest review byHeinBelgium
