- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 129 reviewsIt was everything we would have expected and more. We stayed there on a clear night, no clouds, so we were also lucky to see a sky full of stars ! The owners are nice, they also offer restaurant service at night (much appreciated as there is not much choice over there) and we ate good pizza and could enjoy local beer. The breakfast included in our stay was good too, everything seemed home cooked. I would recommend it to my friends and family!Guest review byFionaFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 1,098 reviewsWe felt very comfortable in Apartment No. 9. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable – we slept really well. The apartment is spacious, quiet, and pleasantly dark at night, which made for a restful sleep. We were especially impressed by how peaceful it was, despite its central and well-connected location. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay that we’re happy to recommend.Guest review byAnnikaGermany

Access to row boats. The staff were pleasant as well. It was clean and the washroom was nice. Lots of cute coffee places and restaurants within easy walking distance, altho there are some hills. Whale watch with AML was fun. Whale museum was informative. Light hikes/ walks along the shoreline. If you take the bus, note there are no taxis in town to go to the hillside bus stop. You can walk, but it might be too strenuous for some. There may be others but I am only sure that a shuttle is offered to guests of the historic Hotel Tadoussac. Really enjoyed coffee on the sunny porch of Abri Côtier, very close to Hotel Tadoussac. Food was good at Chez Mathilde and there was music the night I went. Cafe Bohème had a good mussel/frites dish. Located next door to the only supermarket I found. Cooler in Tadoussac than in Quebec City.Guest review byJulieUnited States - 8.0

My visit was to ski at Mont Ti-Basse. Great place to learn how to ski and practice ski racing. Good place to spend a day if you are OK with small local style ski area. Check before visiting to see if all runs are open and all lifts ( 4) are operational. The St Pancrase brewery and restaurant are great. Unfortunately Covid shut down restaurants for this visit.Guest review byElanS2Canada - 8.0

The best place to get accommodated if there are less options at Tadoussac. It is calm, safe and perfectly surrounded with all the essentials like gas station, grocery shops, pharmacy, restaurants, ice-cream shops, etc. It's well-accessible from both Tadoussac and Saguenay. Staying here provides a great alternative to reach Quebec City (via Saguenay) especially when the ferry (route 138) at Tadoussac takes so long.Guest review byUmashankarCanada - 8.0

Good for a night, Forestville is a drive-through town with lots of grocery stores, car repair shops and hotels. Forestville is not really on the ocean, so if you want proper views I'd suggest drive further south towards Les Escoumis.Guest review byJulian TeakleCanada - 8.0
Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Parking is much too expensive, but the town is small enough to walk everywhere. The whales didn't show up. For a tourist town, too many signs are French only with no English translations!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

I think you really only need one night in Tadoussac, unless you really want to spend a lot of time touring around the small town. We spent two nights, out of a ten day road trip from Montreal to Saguenay, and while it was definitely one of the most beautiful spots, it was also by the far the most expensive. Had I known what I know now, I would have stayed in Les Escoumins, which is only 20 minutes from Tadoussac (and also really cute but less touristy), camped nearby, or stayed only one night. A lot of the restaurants are overpriced and not very good. We had a hard time deciding on where to eat breakfast and lunch especially - not a lot of good cheaper options. A couple of cute coffee shops but I was disappointed by the coffee. I recommend the microbrewery for their beer and poutine, Chez Mathilde for their tasting menu (expensive but so worth it), Cafe Boheme (pricy but delicious - try the seafood risotto) and walking along the waterfront. We booked a zodiac whale watching tour with Vacances Essipit in Les Bergeronnes, about 20 minutes from Tadoussac, which was really nice and more affordable than AML tours - also it's Indigenous-run, which we were happy to support. We saw a humpback whale and some seals. Was a bit cold (wear lots of layers!) but really fun. We also went to Cap des Bons Desirs and the Marine Environment Discovery Center (we preferred Cap des Bons Desirs, and saw some porpoises and a fin whale there).Guest review byKatrinaCanada
