- From $297.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 5 reviewsWindswept on the Trent is off the beaten path but well worth the effort. We were traveling through the area from Illinois so my daughter could try some horses and I found this property searching for highly rated places to stay. The property is beautiful. There were lots of water activities (swimming, kayaks, hot tub, etc.) although we didn't have the time for those on this trip. Next time we'll stay for 2 nights or more so we will have time to really enjoy the property. We stayed in the coach house which was perfect for my daughter and I. I was skeptical at first about the pull out sofa for her but it turned out to be as comfy as a bed. Elaine could not have been a kinder hostess. She was hosting some friends while we were there and they invited us to eat dinner with them and the other kids who were there included my daughter when they watched a movie after dinner. I could not have been happier with the accommodations and would definitely return if I am ever back in the area.Guest review byDavidUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 12 reviewsOur family was pleased to stay at Sandy Shore Cottages over the Easter weekend. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with all necessary equipment and lots of kitchen utensils. The large panoramic windows overlooking Rice Lake offer stunning views of sunsets. The resort offers a variety of amenities including boat rentals/fishing, a swimming pool (open during summer), a small sandy beach, a sauna and more - so all family members could find their own entertainment opportunities. Big thanks to the hosts Evgeniy and Natalia for the warm welcome!Guest review byNickCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 23 reviewsa view of the lake, peaceful lovely spot. all the amenities you could ask for. It is apparent that the hostess takes great pride in her property, and although it’s early spring and not much in bloom yet, I am sure it is stunning in the summer when full bloom surrounds this lively property. Lawn chairs and patio furniture appreciated, even when rainy I was able to enjoy outdoors and stay dry. Wonderful walking area, whether you choose the beach walk or in the cute town, it makes for a great walk.Guest review byJoanneCanada
- From $170.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 107 reviewsFriendly and attentive service from owners. The view was amazing along the river and the room was very clean. The bed was so comfortable; however the pillows were not to my liking; I usually bring my own to hotel rooms. It was quiet and I felt safe as an elderly woman travelling alone. The property well lit at night if returning to the room at night. I highly recommend this hotel.Guest review byLanaCanada
- From $136.93 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 755 reviewsThe Royal George is a classic heritage hotel - large rooms, high ceilings, atmosphere. However, lacks modern chain hotel amenities - no gyms, pools, breakfast, etc. Location is perfect - in the heart of the village and a block from the beaches.Guest review byGrantCanada

I grew up in Cobourg and loved it.
I grew up in Cobourg and loved it. Left to join the Army in 1978 and finally made it back to stroll down King Street and walk the beach again. Fabulous what the Marina has done for the place. It is still the great place I remember. MGuest review byMichaelCanada - 10.0

Brighton is a small, pleasant community of friendly, helpful residents. We were delighted observing the unique character of the down town buildings and the pride of ownership which is evident wherever you go. The employees at the Sobeys grocery store went over and above to assist us in even the small things which added to our overall very pleasant stay here. The marina restaurant's staff were very friendly and the food was very good. Due to covid restrictions we were directed to a picnic bench at the waters edge to enjoy our meal where we were thrilled to be accompanied by a family of swans. It is a place we will definitely visit again!Guest review bySeanCanada - 10.0
A hidden gem!
A hidden gem! A perfect rural town set in bucolic countryside amazingly close to the 401 and Toronto. Delightful setting on the Trent River. Enough amenities (like restaurants) to accommodate tourists but not enough to spoil the rural characters of the town.Guest review byMcMillanCanada - 10.0

I liked that there are a lot of restaurants and patios and a lot of clothing shops and decor shops .I ate at The El ,The Buttermilk Cafe and Cucina Urbana .if you just want something light or for later you can grab a sandwich to go at the Millstone Bread Bakery right near the hotel .I also found a local historic Pub Kelly's Lite a block from the hotel .They have bands and singers on Friday and Saturday nights .They also serve breakfast and lunch .I visited Victoria Hall They have a small Art Gallery there .There are nice clothing stores ,decor stores and my favorite were the many Chrystal and Tarot shops .Cobourg was a friendly place to visit as a solo person .Easy to get around .It is walkable to everything .Guest review byLynnCanada - 10.0
I love Port Hope♥, we have been going there for years now.
I love Port Hope♥, we have been going there for years now. Love the downtown area very well kept Old Buildings, plus a beautiful Park and on Saturdays the Farmers Market with wonderful goodies fresh from the Farms around. A very clean Public Bathroom by the Park also. All in all I LOVE PORT HOPE, wish I could go live there♥Guest review byGloriaCanada - 8.0
Lots of excellent restaurants and cafes.
Lots of excellent restaurants and cafes. Historic quaint downtown contains plenty of Canadian art and craft as well as fine clothing and shoe shopping. For thrift shoppers, there are some excellent choices all on one street up from Main Street (KING). The waterfront and marina are accessible and close to the downtown. A beautiful concert venue brings theatre and music to town and local pubs feature local music.Guest review byBonnieAbkhazia - 10.0
