- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,779 reviewsMy name is Michael Lucas, Tatyana is my wife, we came to the hotel from Miami to celebrate a New Year's Eve 2023. We had an unbelievable time. Nicolas Muller - the hotel's food and beverage manager, organized for the guest's of the hotel a fantastic, high quality New Year's Eve party in the rooftop hotel restaurant overlooking the magnificent lake Neuchatel! Though we did not have a reservation for the New Year's Eve celebration which had all been sold out, he managed to accommodate us as well. Nicolas Muller's professionalism has no limits or boundaries, Nicolas is a detail-oriented high-professional with top skills in hospitality management. He can make people happy even in unpredictable situations. Thank you Nicolas, you made us happy on the New Year's Eve 2023 and you make this hotel a better place and we will by all means come back to your hotel again to experience a high level food and beverage service. - From $226.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 485 reviewsEverything. It's a truly cute historic hotel in a beautiful gorge I would never have found on my own. The rooms are nice, in a sort of historic-french decor. Breakfast is fantastic, nicely set, French bread, coffee to order, organic local yogurt, etc. Peaceful and quiet, a bucolic little river flowing by, walking trails, trees... it is all that it seems and more. Oh and fresh trout for dinner. What the French can do with a little butter, flour, lemon, and salt and pepper is amazing.Guest review byJefferyUnited States
- From $203.22 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 548 reviewsRoom was clean, quiet and spacious and the bathroom had been upgraded to modern style fixtures. So, even though the hotel was an older property, the room was well maintained. The hotel had a small elevator, 2 person size. Location was great, located in downtown La Chaux du Fonds and walking distance to the International Museum of Horology, a shopping mall and restaurants. Hotel even had a small parking lot if you are driving.Guest review byRalphUnited States

Neuchatel offers a tourist pass with free entry to many attractions in the canton and free public transport. Note that many places are closed on Sundays and/or Mondays. We made the most of the sunshine by taking a train to Buttes and walking in the mountains above the chairlift (included in the tourist pass), with fabulous views over the lake, the Jura and the distant Alps. We also enjoyed a morning boat trip and a peaceful walk through protected marshland at St Blaise. We loved the food in Himalaya Momo.Guest review byKathrynUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Don't bother going.
Don't bother going. It feels like a travel lodge, cheap feeling. Staff we ok not their fault. Breakfast an uncomfortable disaster. Clearly they are measuring portions and there is next to nothing on offer. I gave up and didn't eat. Really cheap behaviour for an expensive cost.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0
One of the smallest towns in Switzerland.
One of the smallest towns in Switzerland. Fifth time here, but haven't visited watch museum. As many other Swiss towns it's dying, so enjoy it until it's gone. Less and less people living there. Check a small second hand shop in front of hotel 3 kings - 80% are common household things, but often you can find some rare treasure like 50 years old Swiss knife, portable fondu copper set, vinyls, rare books, cutlery, etc.Guest review byvaldajkoChina - 8.0

Travers is a small town but has everything you need as a traveler (food store, pharmacie, bakery etc...). In Travers and around a lot of activities can be done, for example hiking to Creux du Van, visit of alphast mines, horse riding etc... To reach Travers is very easy by car and there is also a train station which seems to be properly served. If you want to party, it's not really the place since there are not many options to do that. It's a quiet small town.Guest review byBenoitSwitzerland - 10.0

Lovely town on the side of the lake with good shops, restaurants and some historical sights. Beware it is very hilly away from lakeside but public transport is very good. Good location from which to explore the area by road or rail (but rail is expensive). Cities such as Bern and Lausanne are just under an hour away.Guest review byJeremyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

In summer Neuchâtel clearly has a North-Italian atmosphere to me, originating from the old town buildings, the vibes in the harbour and even home-made icecream everywhere! Prices are better than other Swiss lakeside cities, and the Neuchâtel Tourist Card makes it easy to get around and profit from sights or lake cruises.Guest review byWolfgangSwitzerland
