Room had a beautiful view across the beach. Lovely watching the sunset and lying in bed watching the waves. We were on the fourth floor. Anything below this would not have had that great a view. Bed was really comfortable and the pillows amazing. Slept really well. No noise from other rooms. Sound proofing is good. Shower was great. Really hot water. Complimentary drink when you arrive. San Pedro de Atacama was one of the most beautiful surprises from the 65 countries I’ve visited. I can’t recommend it enough. Nature is truly at its finest here, with breathtaking contrasts everywhere you look -- from otherworldly landscapes to serene lagoons and dramatic geysers. They waited me long time during check-in, even there is no customer in the middle of night. Their credit card machined didn't work, they asked me cash. I offered them to pay with USD but then they directed me another lobby to make this operation. That was totally mess. In addition my corridor was noisy at 5AM in the morning. I came to Calama for a day to take the Chuquicamata Mine...
I came to Calama for a day to take the Chuquicamata Mine tour and didn't do much else. It is a modern city with very an efficient public transportation system. It was a real hardship to find information on how to book the tour. The Edificio Caldelco website was totally inadequate in directing visitors on the process of reserving. This is a charming little town with lots of character. It is also central to many wonderful tourist attractions, with many tour agent offices in town available to assist with activity planning.
