It's best for the great wall. I recommend going to simatai for the sunset, jinshanling for the awe inspiring views and panlong for the untamed wild serenity. To get to panlong, you need to didi or get a car to the bottom, then pay 25rmb to get in. Once at the top, turn right (east). You have to come back the way you came(apparently there is another way down but we couldn't find it). Wear sensible shoes. Miyun isn't easy to get around. Beijing is a beautiful city with a lot of tourist places which you must visit. From Beijing you can visit the Great Wall of China, Summer palace and lots of other nice places. Tianjin is very underrated, and at just 30 minutes from Beijing I think it should be more popular. The river, the foreign concessions, and the modern buildings inspired by them, make the city feel very European, and we love wandering around the foreign concessions and the streets of the Wudadao area, getting coffee in the many different cafes. There's also Ancient Culture Street, which isn't ancient but has plenty of culture, the China House which is amazing to see from the outside (haven't been inside yet), the Confucius Temple, the Tianjin Eye, walks along the riverbank... lots to see and do here!Guest review byNic in ChinaChina - 10.0

Beijing is a must-see for anyone travelling to China, I recommend a few days there. The Forbidden City, the Great wall and the Summer palace are must-see for anyone interested in historical architecture and experiencing an ancient culture. However, there is also plenty to do besides that - the hutongs are an amazing way to experience traditional culture in the modern day, as well as buy handmade souvenirs and jewellery. There are massive modern shopping centres with plenty of Chinese and international brands. There are traditional restaurants and swanky modern bars. There is also Gubei water town, offering a great day-trip for anyone wishing to see a bit of nature and quaint town houses. Beijing offer something for everyone.Guest review byMariana
