This hotel offers a wonderful view and is within walking distance of the Acropolis and nearby parks. The location is very convenient, as you can take the metro from the airport to Syntagma and either walk for about 18 minutes or take a short taxi ride. The rooms are modern, well-furnished, and very comfortable. Breakfast on the 6th floor was excellent, with a beautiful view of the city. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Athens!

The staff were exceptional! There was nothing that wasn't a challenge and they were easy to communicate with via whatsapp prior to our arrival. The wellness spa with sauna and a swim is allocated for one hour (per room) and was a wonderful experience. The room and view is incredible, for us it was well worth the value/price. The plunge pool is ambient temperature however in May we found that the evening sun heated it perfectly. The sun set and it was comfortable even at 10pm. Breakfast is a must to eat on the deck!

Every city in Spain is different.

Every city in Spain is different. In Barcelona, we joined free guided tours about modern history, and it was a very special experience. As for the food, we followed the locals’ recommendations when choosing restaurants and were very satisfied. For our transportation, we mainly used the metro and the train to get to the airport. As a group of friends, we were cautious, but overall, we felt safe despite the warnings about pickpocketing.

If you're staying near the Acropolis, you're in the perfect...

If you're staying near the Acropolis, you're in the perfect spot—most major historical sites in Athens, including the Acropolis Museum, Plaka, Monastiraki, and Syntagma Square, are within easy walking distance and can be explored in a single day. For day trips outside Athens, the Peloponnese is your best bet. Destinations like Mycenae, Epidaurus, and Nafplio are reachable within 1.5–2 hours and offer rich archaeological and cultural experiences. In contrast, places like Delphi or Meteora require longer travel times (over 3 hours one way), making them less ideal for a single-day outing. If you're short on time, it's often more rewarding to soak up Athens' vibrant neighborhoods and enjoy traditional Greek tavernas. The Monastiraki Flea Market has become highly tourist-oriented in recent years. While it still retains some charm, many of the original antique and vintage vendors have been replaced by stalls selling mass-produced souvenirs. It's worth a stroll, but manage your expectations. To escape the crowds, consider visiting the armored cruiser Georgios Averof, docked at Flisvos Marina. It's the only surviving ship of its class in the world and now serves as a floating naval museum. A hidden gem for history buffs, it offers a peaceful break from the city bustle. If you're planning a quick island getaway, skip the temptation to island-hop. Choose just one island and take a regular ferry for a more relaxed experience. Hydra is a standout choice: it's car-free, scenic, and known for its artistic vibe and famously friendly cats. While not the most remote island geographically, its lack of motor vehicles and slower pace make it feel like a true escape.

There is a great deal to see here.

There is a great deal to see here. There are 700 churches, and some of them are very beautiful. We toured the opera house, the royal palace, and the archeological museum was a must see (especially if you visit Pompeii there are many artifacts from that site). Just be prepared it is a very congested city. It is noisy, dirty, and crowded. The drivers of cars and scooters don't follow any lanes and drive fast and swerve around each other. Crossing the street is quite a challenge.

Fantastic city with lots to offer, the beaches were easy excess and we were so happy to have fantastic weather which made the stay memorable. Transport links were fantastic and easy to use and people were extremely kind and helpful regardless of the language barriers. We are planning to return in 2026 as we felt that a short stay did not do justice and would like to explore near by beaches and cities on the next visit but ensure that Malaga would be our main hub as we loved it!

Valencia was a joy to explore during Half Marathon weekend—compact, flat, and easy to navigate by bus or on foot through the Turia Gardens. We loved the contrast between the Gothic Old Town and the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, the bustle of Mercado Central, and easy beach access at Malvarrosa/Patacona; paella for lunch and a glass of horchata were highlights.

Nice - Nizza in Italian and German, is an old town dating back to before the Romans conquered the area. Some streets are so narrow that Americans feel they are creepy. The more modern part have wider streets, and the traffic is not too bad. What can be confusing when you come by plane, is that the commuter train (which is by the way very modern ) has also a service in the other direction, So most people arriving will probably take the towards port Lympia. We stayed near Place Masséna, which is probably the barycenter of city , with the oldest part of the town to the East, and the largest areas towards the west. We ate almost all our meal there except while visiting the habour in Port Lympia, where we ate Halacca at le Pass'Port, and if you don't know what Halacca is, then don't feel bad, because I think 99.87 % of all French don't know it either. For the last question "What are some great activities for young couples like you?" — we don't qualify. I had to help a young inebriated girl find her way to a nightclub in my neighbourhood. It was only only afterwards I discovered it was listed as a Gay bar. So I am guilty of leading the younger generation astray, although I found the right address.

Fantastic, full of contradictions, amazing food, friendly people. It's loud and chaotic one minute and calm and quite the next, but normally noisy. try to get off the beaten track and explore the backstreets and try the restaurants you find and definitely eat at the stalls in the markets. Thoroughly recommend it if you want a city break with a bit of adventure.

There was so much to see and do!

There was so much to see and do! The History Museum in the Bourse shopping centre was fantastic! The Cosquer Cave was wonderful. We took the boat trip to the Calanques and enjoyed it. It was easy to get around and we used buses and the Metro. The best souvenir store was "Marseille in The Box". 13 Rue Reine Elizabeth. It is opposite the Carrefore store outside The Bourse. The man who runs it has items that are made for him in Marseille and unique items that are not found in the souvenir stores on the waterfront. He also speaks English and has good information about visiting Marseille. Great restuarant: Il Trio, 29 Pl.aux Huiles. In big plaza just behind the waterfront. Delicious and large size platter at a reasonable price.
