It is a town with an industrial atmosphere, cut in two halves with a frequented motorway. Lots of old delapidated factory buildings. There are some nice places, like the main squares of Frýdek and Místek or the park by the river Ostravice, but the general feeling is not very inspiring. The best thing is the short distance to the beautiful Beskydy mountains, which are easily accessible by bus, train or car. Rožnov pod Radhoštěm is known mainly for its open-air museum. There it is really worth to plan two days for the visit to see everything. Nearby there are small architectural gems of a regional architect to admire. A trip to Brno is also recommended. The spa The fact we traveled from Ireland for new years celebrations and the hotel closed all facilities on new years at 8pm and did not reopen until we had left.
