But it turned out to be the perfect solution. In the past month, numerous times we have shown up somewhere prior to check-in and have had to wait. After riding a bike all day this allowed us to let ourselves in, shower and rest up before dinner. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed so can't comment on that. Tuttlingen is located in a beautiful part of Germany, surrounded by the Black Forest. The castle ruins, around which the town in centered, are beautiful, definitely worth seeing. Apart from that, there is not much to do in the town, at least in the winter. There are some lovely hiking areas nearby, such as Fürstlicher Park.
