Even I usually choose room like anyone else, I noticed that hotels staff usually treat single moms with child like second-class guests so I usually get very small room, without nice view and quite expensive because I don't travel with partner. But with this hotel (11th hotel during our trip) was not the same. It's mostly for business purpose, I noticed that is great for conference meetings and workshops, but still my child and me got all above expectations. The room was nice and clean, with great view and breakfast was amazing. It's good also if you are coming with car so you can park for 24 euros all night. Very quiet place by the river, in winter peace and quiet. There is no new renovation, so expect a simple, neat room not overloaded with furniture, with white walls. Good location. You can get there from the airport by train. The hotel is 5 minutes from the station. The Lidl grocery store is across the street. We chose this hotel because it is very close to the Sanssouci Park, which we were going to visit. Potsdam's Brandenburg Gate and the city center are two tram stops away, or you can walk there. It really is a good option when looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature, very close to Berlin and the beatiful palaces and historic centre of Potsdam. The railway and tramway station are a 15 minutes nice walk through nature. Free parking just outside the hotel. Some of the most important historic buildings in Potsdam have lately been rebuilt, so now is the time to visit. About the size of Cambridge in the UK, the city used to be the seat of the Kings and Queens of Prussia, and is chock full of historic building and palaces and parks to the point of surfeit. It's very easy to get around with local trams, and sits on the confluence of several beautiful lakes. It is also on the Berlin suburban and regional train network, of course. Plenty of cultural places to visit in this historical town/suburb of Berlin. A clean and attractive city, with lots to see and a very pleasant ambience. Outside of the obvious attractions like the Sanssouci Palace, there are hidden gems dotted within a 20 minute walk out of the centre. There are myriad places to eat and the transport options are excellent. It is also a great base from which to explore Berlin. It is worth buying a "Berlin Welcome Card" in advance of the trip as this gets rid of wasting time with individual transport tickets as well as providing discounts on attractions.Guest review bystephenUnited Kingdom
