Lahnstein is a jem within the beautiful rhine river region. Visiting the boardwalk by the rhine with a beautiful cafe and options to catch a boat ride to ohter beautiful villages. Lahneck the towns castle is a most see, easy to be hikes to. Lahnstein has beautiful old architekture and considered a nice place to visit with all its rich history. Vineyards are all over to admire and take a photo.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Amazing beautiful and quiet village in the river.
Amazing beautiful and quiet village in the river. Be aware most of people there only speak German (but they are nice people trying to communicate anyway even with the language barriers). I would like to come back and spend more days next time.Guest review byTabataDenmark - 10.0

If you are looking to experience the upper middle Rhine this is absolutely the place to stay. Only five suites in this amazing period castle. We wished we booked it for a full week or two it was that perfect.Guest review byDrewUnited States - 10.0
We liked everything!
We liked everything! Our stay felt like a warm and very nice bath from the beginning till the end! We had dinner at The Golden Schlüssel (Great!) because the hotels' restaurant was closed (unfortunately) due to circumstances. Next time we hope to enjoy the restaurant as well!!Guest review byLeonineNetherlands - 10.0

This is a lovely small wine village in the glorious MIttelrhein (Middle Rhine) region, offering better prices and no crowds in comparison to the larger towns. Accommodation comes with a Euro 1.5 surcharge, a tiny fee which gives you a VRM travel pass, for free travel on trains, trans and buses over a large area - this is amazing value.Guest review byRichardAustralia - 8.0
Nice village/city at the Rhine.
Nice village/city at the Rhine. Several antique buildings worth seeing. Bad coffee at the restaurant near the Rhine (not the KD boat stand, try that one please). Enough shops and supermarkets. Free parking on Saturdays. I ate at the appartment. I stayed there for visiting friends, for site-seeing you'll only need some hours,Guest review byLaren29Netherlands - 8.0
Kaub is a very pleasant village in the Rhine gorge .
Kaub is a very pleasant village in the Rhine gorge . Transport links are very easy and convenient with hourly trains in both directions to Frankfurt and Koblenz and Cologne and a short walk to hotels and guest houses from the rail station. There is also a ferry across the river for cars and foot passengers to Oberwesel . Like all the Rhineland towns and villages there is excellent scenery and plenty of walking routes from up steep paths to stunning views and easier low level paths along the Rhine embankment. Kaub is as good as all of the Rhine gorge locations very convenient for all types of traveler and tourist, whether you travel by private transport or public Kaub is easy and convenient with with excellent scenery and is a great place to stay.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely spacious apartment with views over Rhine.
Lovely spacious apartment with views over Rhine. Well equipped and very clean. Nadine and Matthias were very welcoming and helpful. They run the hotel next door and make their own wine which you can buy and sample in the restaurant which is open Thursday to Sunday and provides good food. We would return .Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We used Lahnstein as a base for travelling around the area but there is also plenty to do within walking distance of this apartment. Be very wary of relying on German trains - we used DB to travel around the area as well as to get to and from the Eurostar at Brussels. Without doubt this is the worst train system I've used with packed trains (no seats even when reserved in first class), regularly delayed trains, and trains stopping several stations short of the advertised destination.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It is a beautiful but very small village: the restaurants are not open everyday during the week so eating choices are limited but there is a great train connection to the neighbouring villages. I recommend the rafting tours that go from KaubGuest review byHamishSpain
