It's a quaint little town.
It's a quaint little town. All the restaurants are Italian or pizzerias. They were fair to good. The stores are interesting. It is a small village. Casa de Campo is very calm and relaxing. Not a place for party-goers. Roads are clean, very secure and you can walk around. A paradise for golf players. Restaurants are fine, but everything is expensive. Prices are in dollars and at American rates, while product and service remains Dominican. Very nice environment, we were in an apartment, which is located together in the hotel area. It is possible to use all services for payment in hotels. It is close to the swimming pools and three of them are filled with sea water. The fourth is freshwater. Nice umbrellas, a sufficient number of sunbeds on a sandy base. Since the hotel is on a rock, there is no classic sandy beach and the entrance to the sea is via stairs. However, this does not detract from the attractiveness. Bayahibe small and cozy, easy to drive, we were there to look for possible place to live. However the europeans have locked up the town and are building many apartment complex's for tourism. Too expensive to rent or buy in Bayahibe. Nice place to visit at Villa Baya for 4 days and that is it. 30 tour bus's bring in 2000 people daily from all over to go on catamaran tours, particularly to Isla Saona I suspect, as well as the scuba business. When the apartment complexs are finished in the next 2 to 3 years, Bayahibe is going to be totally overcrowded I suspect. I asked about snorkel tour for a couple hours. $150 usd!!!!! OUCH!! Stayed their for only one night as we were picking up a cruise the next day. Everything was good and the service was exceptional. As two senior women travelling I was very happy that the resort provided a wonderful person to pick us up at the airport and then he took us to the cruise port the next morning. I would definately stay their again. Also we arrived late evening so most eating places were closed so the owner made us an amazing pizza. This was a wonderful jesture as we were both tired from a long travel day and just wanted to relax. This was much appreciated.Guest review byLilianCanada
