Exceptionally helpful staff, very understanding about us ammending our booking as we decided we needed more time to get back to punta cana and have a couple of days to relax before the flight home- a bit of a shame as would have been great to stay and try some surfing ( our poor planning). owner was so friendly and helpful-all the staff including night security guard made us feel very welcome, helpful suggestions on local ammentities and things to do. very close to the surf break which looked like it had options for all abilities and really clean looking main break. nice empty beaches nearby that are a bit wilder than other places we stayed which was nice. no wind when we were there but for kiting would be a about 15 min walk to get to beach with enough room to launch. breakfast was great with fresh juice options- for me a vegi version of the domincan option was perfection . room / appartment very spacious and comfy, great bed and shower. drying rack, water cooler with hot water option too- everything you could need, huge fridge and feezer for longer stays. nice pool. spotlessly clean and all the linen smelt lovely.

I LOOOVE THIS PLACE ! I highly recommend this hotel . You get a big confortable apartment. It is very clean . I just love the vibe of the apartment I stayed . It was right in front of the beach . The staff there are so nice and friendly ! I travel around the world and hardly ever you encounter that the whole hotel staff are so friendly and make you feel like home !! We spent a wonderful few days at Coral Hotel Punta Rusia and can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a welcoming, well-managed hotel with a breathtaking view! The hotel is simple but really well-maintained, and it has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, available for both couples and larger families (we stayed as a family of 11!) The terraces offer a stunning view of the sea, perfect for moments of pure relaxation. A feature we really appreciated was the availability of cold and hot water dispensers on every floor – very convenient, especially on hot days. The included breakfast was excellent, varied, and generous, with fresh and tasty products. We also decided to have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised: the dishes were well-prepared, and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. A special thanks to the owner, who is kind, welcoming, and always ready to offer helpful tips about the area or just have a chat. The staff, composed of local young people, were extremely polite and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel also has parking for cars and motorcycles – another great perk – and the beautiful La Ensenada beach is just a 15-minute walk away, a lovely and scenic stroll. In short, we had an amazing time with the family and can’t wait to return. It’s a place where you feel at home, but with the sea right in front of you!

    Everything! This flat is huge! Like three large rooms all en suite, huge balconies, living room / dining room / kitchen areas was comfortable. High ceilings, internet worked fine, washing machine worked well as well. Also really liked the area of the complex and the infinity pool was probably the best part overlooking the sea. You also have private beach access. Also special shout out to Roberto and Jessie for being so attentive and provided the best customer service 💯

    What we liked most about it was the great service from the staff . Yocairy was an excellent manager who, greeted us, organised our tour to Cayó Arena and let us shower and stay longer in our rooms. The staff from the restaurant went over the mile to make our stay a wonderful experience.

    Food was not good.

    Food was not good. Service at the Buffet could have been much better. Rooms need attention. Lights need to be brighter, fans need controls, our door lock needed repair to lock. No water pressure in sink. The resort was attractive & kept clean.

    i liked the location the best because i was able to mix with...

    i liked the location the best because i was able to mix with the local people there. i learned alot about the Dominican culture and meet some good people. the night life was great the clubs and the casino were full of people on the week end. and i have to say the ladies of Sosua are gorgeous and friendly. the local message shop only charge $20 America dollars for one hour you can get that in the us. and they do an assume job. the beach water was a beautiful blue color and they have a variety of good restaurants.

    Having visited both Ensenada and Punta Rucia beaches...

    Having visited both Ensenada and Punta Rucia beaches regularily over the last 25 Years Punta Rucia is by far the best ... Ensenada has gone down in all aspects. We loved our experiance at Punta Rucia Lodge resort, the service, prices, staff's attention and overall service in all departments was excellent, the beach front well kept, clean and serviced by security ( available if needed) wonderful place to visit!!

    Property was as advertised. Very nice view. For the money $$$, I got what I paid for. Took a minute to acclimate to the place. My ONLY TRUE CRITISISM - - - (that I didn't catch until too late) was there was NO address or name of the property. There was only a discription.

    I like the Mountains behind the Bay...

    I like the Mountains behind the Bay...I love to see those mountains..There is a Jesus Statue donated by Rio to Puerto Plata, a miniature reproduction..The market is fun..not much into beaches..Great Ice Cream on the Central Plaza next to the Church..The Church Steeple is a great reference point when lost.A nice bus ride of 2.5 hours from Santo Domingo..Came by Carib Tours...walked up to the place on day one from the Bus station..a 10 minute walk up the hill.

    Sosua offers everything for a nice short holiday. a very beautiful beach is Playa Alicia. You have to pay for the sunbeds/ umbrellas but it is worth it. German butchers have great sausages and meat and also the "La Cantina" restaurant in La Mulata is great if you search for German food. The Playero supermarket offers a great variety of products.

    Cabarete has a laid-back feel that is perfect for an easygoing vacation. The waves are fun the play in and the water/wind sports are fun and colorful to watch. Getting around is easy by walking. High tide will make some of the beach walking a challenge if you are too far down the beach, but still doable.

    It is definitely a hidden gem!

    It is definitely a hidden gem! One must stay there for 2-3 nights rather than doing the Cayo Arena tour and leaving. There are many activities that you can do but the best actually is not doing anything and just enjoying the quietness of the beach and ocean. For some people, it might feel unsafe as the area is quite poor and the town itself has more local tourists but in reality, there is nothing to be afraid of. People are super nice and I even met solo traveling girls staying at the local B&Bs. Order pizza from Lino Pizza, and you will thank me! Also if you go to Cayo Arena look for Rikeury, 15y old boy who can show you the reef, he is the best!

    Nothing compared to what we see online.

    Nothing compared to what we see online. It’s not worthy to visit the country, drive such a long distance and waste time and money to visit Puerto Plata. It’s not worth it. The beach just okay, the Centro Hisyorico” not worth it, and the such “teleférico” not in service for the last 3 years😐
