I ate dinner in the restaurant, which was filling and tasty, and the next morning the choice of food for breakfast was enormous even though I was the only guest. Font Romeu was made as a sporting resort in the 1920s.
Font Romeu was made as a sporting resort in the 1920s. Odeillo further down the hill was the original village. Because of the benefits of the healthy air, originally Font Romeu was used as a place to treat patients with breathing problems. That no longer is the case. Now it is a ski resort and also a summer destination. The views are spectacular and the skiing is augmented by many snow cannons.There are also many rambling routes. There are restaurants and shops but these are quite seasonal and often closed in low season. Font Romeu is also a good base from which to visit local towns and villages, also lakes and even the sea, either in France or, slightly further afield in Northern Spain.Guest review byJaneSpain - 8.0

Hotel room was very warm.
Hotel room was very warm. Had to open the patio door to cool it sometimes. The heaters were off and cold during our stay, but one small area of the shower room and bedroom floor seemed warm. This hotel is surrounded by a beautiful nature of Pyrenees forest and mountains. We have been there during the holidays period but in the hotel was relatively quiet. If you decided to go to any of the attractions around you would have to accept thousand people around you wherever you go with kids screaming and shouting for example in the open carriage of the touristic train goes up into the mountains. If you're decided to enjoy a silence and loneliness in the nearby forest this is not your case because groups of people will be sitting on every corner. For me it was very strange because my expectation was that this place is lost somewhere in the middle of nowhere but it was very opposite, thousands and thousands of people everywhere.Guest review byAndrei TimoninSpain - 8.0

La Molina had suffered from a distinct lack of natural snow when we visited in January but the extensive snowmaking meant that there was plenty of choice and variety, especially if you used the links over to Masella. The town itself is fairly functional, and the night life would appear to be very quiet but that suited us fine. Not a lot in Bourg Madam - not even a supermarket- have to travel to Ur or Puigcerda. Only a pizza takeaway and the cafe/cafeteria under apartments open at night. On route to this accommodation, one of our party was in a...
On route to this accommodation, one of our party was in a crash, badly hurt, hospitalized and his motorcycle un ridable. We contacted booking.com to cancel this booking, they said they would contact the host. We also sent a message to the host and photo's of the damaged bike. We got nothing back other than an acknowledgment from booking.com of our request to cancel. The next day, booking.com message saying, the host hasn't replied. We messaged the host again, nothing. I checked on booking.com, all messages and the booking, have disappeared. 5 days later we are charged the whole fee and recorded as a NO show. We raised this with booking.com, who said they would contact the host. A week later, we had heard nothing. I raised then this again with booking.com, a week later, still nothing.
