This hotel is an absolute must for anyone travelling to Girona. Once you step through the doors of this hotel, you are transported to another world of relaxation - the scents, the sounds and the staff. We couldn’t ask for better recommendations or service. Not to mention the most comfortable bed we have slept in on our trip in Spain. The breakfast was amazing as well. Can’t wait to return in future!

Breakfast was delicious and copious. The quality of the food was outstanding. Jaume, the hotelier, was professional and welcoming. He made my wife and I feel at home. He offered advice on points of interest, best routes and best parking areas. He made us feel at home. His staff was equally courteous and professional. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Everything is reasonably priced. A big plus is the village of Madremanya itself. Authentic and unaffected by tourism. We did not want to leave.

    Hotel Europa is located a short direct walk from the train and bus station (we caught the bus from the airport). Arrived early and the lovely staff kept our bags for us then put them in the room for 1.00pm. Large room with balcony and very large bathroom. It's a short walk over the river into the Old Town. Cafe Oasis over the road in the corner serves a good breakfast (closed Sundays). Lots of excellent restaurants in town including Brots de Vi on the C. Cort-Reial. Girona is such a lovely city; walk the walls, see the Arab Baths and visit the architects house Fundacio Raphael Maso (book by ringing the doorbell). Oh and the Cathedral of course. Then go back to the railway station and get the AVE train to anywhere in Spain - the trains are truly fantastic (book via The Trainline for the best deals- it's easy). Many thanks to Hotel Europa for making the firsts two days of our adventure so special.

    Absolutely stunning building, spacious house for our family and relaxing pool. The hosts were amazing - they gave us a lift to the nearest town for food, rented us bikes, and helped us find a local pizza delivery from Girona! Can’t wait to come back again.

    A beautiful city, with medieval historic center, museums and great restaurants, beautiful views of the river and apartments reflected on the water, the stone bridge and others, nice and friendly staff at the Tourism Office. Would return to Girona more than Barcelona. Easy transportation to Palafrugell and the hop on hop off bus to Tamariu, Calella and Llafranch. We stayed in Calella just during the day but loved it. Could not visit the Cathedral in Girona due to so many steps and we are in our 70's.......

    Ate at c’an pep pizza place very good food and friendly atmosphere about 15 mins walk away. Also at La temporada in the big shopping centre. Very nice salads. The ‘town centre’ of Salt is very difficult to park in.

    A cosy, authentic b&b in a countryside, run by a very friendly owner. A pleasant experience. Lovely house with thick walls. The village is about 1 km away, a pleasant walk through the fields, a nice restaurant. 3 donkeys and lots of chickens walking around:-) Good vibes.

    Fabulous place to spend a few days.

    Fabulous place to spend a few days. The old town has many historic attractions, great restaurants/cafes and very easily walkable. Parking can be an issue so go early to get a park at the free central areas, or park outside the city and take public transport. If you do have a car, go exploring the amazing little villages and towns within a 50km radius. Local people are super-friendly, even when we didn't speak much Catalan/Spanish

    Salt is nothing special but it is very near to Girona which is amazing especially the old town. It's a great place to use a base for visiting, mountains, sea, rivers and lakes. Beautiful place for cycling!!

    It is very hilly with a lot of steep steps to climb.

    It is very hilly with a lot of steep steps to climb. The best part of Girona is the old Town. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Not much to see though would recommend Girona for a long week-end to experience Spain. Not much to see or do in the New Town down by the main river.

    This is a great place to stop and break up a journey, Just off the motorway, easy to find. It is on the edge of big commercial centre, lots of shops and a selection of places to eat within walking distance. It was clean and welcoming and the room was spacious. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly.
