A wonderful boutique hotel overlooking the cathedral square. We had a grand room with a balcony overlooking the square and frankly it was one of the best hotel rooms I have ever enjoyed. Excellent beds, very clean, a great bathroom. We didn't opt for the breakfast simply because there are so many great options in the surrounding area. The location is as central as can be in Las Palmas. A special mention must go out to the lovely people at the front desk who made are stay so much better.

The location is perfect - everything you need is within walking distance: restaurants, small shops, beach, bus station (number 60 goes from the airport), museums (aquarium and technology museum). Rooms are beautiful and clean, there is a smart system which I loved. Breakfast is served on a beautiful roof top where we spent a lot of time - eating and having that morning coffee. Breakfast is delicious and the coffee is great. Staff is really friendly and helpful. If you want the full roof top experience I highly recommend to use the jaccuzzi. You can use it every day for 1 hour with a time reservation on the reception desk!

The location was great, right in the old city center, next to Colon's house, restaurants and the main street were all the stores are. This is a beautiful renovated hotel, with a very nice terrace and view of the cathedral. The highlight was the friendly staff, from the manager to all the people that work there, such as Manuel, Carolina, Alejandro they were so kind and accommodating, helping us at all times with the booking of our transportation and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was delicious- (best pancakes I've had), good in portions and very high quality and many options as well. Bedrooms have very comfortable beds and linens and are quiet so you really get a good rest. The hotel decoration and landscaping of the terrace have been carefully curated and it feels like a modern but warm place at the same time. Fantastic customer service, I cannot emphasize this enough. If we ever go back to Gran Canarias we for sure will stay there again!

Year-Round Sun, Sea and Surf

The wonderful, year-round climate, great beaches and lively nightlife make Gran Canaria a popular choice for beach holidays in the Canaries. All of these elements are found in Playa del Inglès, the island’s liveliest resort. The water along the sandy beach offer great surfing conditions, as do those at neighbouring Maspalomas.

Large areas of Gran Canaria are of ecological importance and the incredible Maspalomas sand dunes are no exception. Other nature reserves are the forests of the mountainous centre of the island near San Bartolomé. Nearby Agüimes - a peaceful town known for its cave houses – is a short transfer from Gran Canaria Airport.

Visitors also arrive at the island by ferry to Las Palmas, the capital city which sweeps around a narrow piece of land ending in a mountain. Booking.com has a good range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Gran Canaria, but the greatest concentration are in Puerto Rico, a family-friendly resort with 2 beautiful, horseshoe-shaped bays and the Atlantida waterpark.

Also offering a selection of Gran Canaria hotels for families is Puerto de Mogan, known as ‘Little Venice’ because of its canals. Nestled in the volcanic landscape just along the coast is small Playa Taurito, one of many resorts with hotels with waterslides.

    Multiple activities for kids: a water play area, a playroom, animation arranged in the evenings. Great to stay with family. The pools are heated and water was comfortable to swim in. The location of the rooms and terrace facing the sun gave an opportunity to sun bathe on the balcony if you want to. Nearby you have a supermarket, multiple restaurants, and the walk to the closest beach is around 15 mins.

    I had a very pleasant stay. I was at the apartment for 12 days and this place is perfect for a long vacation- I could cook and wash my clothes at the apartment. The stuff at the reception is very helpful and nice. The swimming pool is big and there were always free sunbeds. Not to mention there is a parking free of charge, also a supermarket/bowling/darts/billiard center nearby are surely an advantage.

    We loved to be 10 minutes drive away from the very touristic area of Maspalomas and instead enjoy the view of maspalomas dune from the mountains. We enjoyed the drive to Pico de Nieves. The mountains are wonderful. Canyons and then pine trees. The view from Pico de Nieves and through the journey there is incredible. The dunes deserve a visit as well as puerto de mogan. But the mountains are a paradise.

    I first visited Puerto Rico when I was 19 ....I am now 61 and have been a regular visitor throughout. In fact I lived there for 12 years and owned an apartment for 15 years. Possibly my opinion is biased, but having visited all the other Canarian islands, I would say that the area between Melanores and Mogan offers most things to most people, and as Puerto Rico is the centre of that area, its quite simply a great place to base your holiday - I for one will always return !

    A quiet location with enough bars and restaurants but not a huge choice. After a week we would be a little bored without a car. The beach was nice with lots of families, couples and older people. No shopping as such.

    This is a quiet, relaxing and friendly town.

    This is a quiet, relaxing and friendly town. There is a wide variety of restauants with friendly staff and also a very good array of shops. The town features dining on the beachfront and in the harbour area. There are lots of couples and young families. It is not rowdy or noisy. There is a fabulous viewing point above the town and a very well connected public bus system. It is an hour from the airport and costs just under 7 euro one way. The bus stops are clearly marked on arrival in Las Palmas airport and the small bus station is just five minutes walk from the beach in Peurto de Mogan.

    Great area lots of places to eat, Yumbo centre for people watching & a drink. Everywhere was very clean & everyone welcoming. We went also to Puerto Mogan, lovely village worth the trip, and up into the mountains from Madpolomas to Tejeda very narrow roads.... also recommend the Aquarium at Las Palmas, great day out

    we went in may, june would maybe be better?, Maspolomas is a 15 minute walk away and very much more alive, great here if your a golfer.We went to the Yumbo centre most evenings, cheap via taxi and the taxi rank is right outside the villa, First visit to Melonaras and not my last i hope..

    This was a great location for our holiday in January.

    This was a great location for our holiday in January. Agaete is not a tourist area but has access to walks from the apartment. Driving into the mountains to see tourist attractions and find other walking routes did take sometime due to the winding mountain roads. Great selection of restaurants and cafes within a short walking distance in the harbour area and a short drive to Sardina Nord for a lovely beach.
