FAQs about hotels on Tenerife
Fun and Sun All Year Round
The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has sun, sand and sangria all year round. Its landscape is dominated by volcanic Mount Teide, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose peak is covered by snow. There are fabulous views over Tenerife and the surrounding islands from the cable car that takes you up.
However, most visitors flock to the island for its beaches. The most exclusive area is Costa Adeje, home to most 5-star hotels in Tenerife. It also houses Aqualand waterpark with waterslides, pools and a dolphinarium, while next door Playa de las Americas boasts Siam Park – Europe’s largest waterpark.
This resort is the island’s party capital and features a large number of Tenerife hotels with swimming pools, and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Adjoining Los Cristianos also has a long, sandy beach.
The southern Tenerife beaches are actually artificial, made from white sand imported from the Sahara Desert, because the natural ones are black sand. Tenerife resorts with just such a beach include Puerto de la Cruz and Los Gigantes, which is dramatically sheltered by sheer cliffs.
The capital – Santa Cruz – is the arrival point for ferries from the other Canaries and has a huge, annual carnival. Wherever you decide to stay, check out the Tenerife hotel deals on Booking.com.

- From US$311.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,171 reviewsThe rooms, service and location deserve the high rating. Firstly, we arrived late and could not have dinner but the hotel staff kindly left four trays of cold food, salads and fruit and we started our holiday with a midnight snack. This was a family holiday (aunty and 3 teenage nieces) and we paid for half board and were very impressed with literally everything: The hotel - Tastefully decorated and clean. We discovered something new every day during our week long stay. Location was perfect as there was access to two beaches and promenades with many restaurants, shops and entertainment and a shopping mall should one wish to leave the hotel. We loved that the hotel was very private, quiet, and secure. Perhaps it was just because it was the beginning of the holidays. The hotel provided the best environment for relaxation. Free water and cookies were also available at reception and a really fantastic idea after a walk. The teenagers loved the cookies! The food - Breakfast and dinner was exceptional. A variety of different cuisine made it easy to appeal to everyone's particular taste. For dinner, there were over 4 restaurants to choose from and the food definitely was Michelin star standard. The choices were endless and they catered for everyone. Entertainment was good, with live performances every night. Apart from the restaurants, there is a snack bar and several lounges. The pool - There was sufficient sun beds all day long with excellent service provided by staff. We particularly liked the free fruits provided by the poolside staff which was a brilliant touch and a great way to cool down. Games, gym and the spa - We spent an afternoon in the spa and sauna. The staff were simply amazing and the experience was fantastic. We played pool and table tennis and it was popular with the young crowd and a great way to mix with other guests in the evenings. The gym offered all round equipment which we used once :). We loved the view of the beach.Guest review byMargaretThailand
- From US$534.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 631 reviewsFrom the second we arrived staff were superb - always a friendly greeting, calm, accommodating! Breakfast was spectacular; astonishing choice in a beautiful room or outdoor terrace with views. Hotel itself was gorgeous, full of secluded areas so even though it was at capacity when we stayed it never seemed crowded. Range of pools, with warm or cold, salt or freshwater. It's also right on the beach (though you wouldn't know, it's so private) and just 10 mins walk from several restaurants in Costa Adeje if you fancy a change.Guest review bySaraIreland

Kept them busy and entertained and out of the sunshine if it got too warm. My kids especially loved the cookie making and T-shirt painting. Also loved the water aerobics every day in the pool with the instructors. Loved the fact the cleaners came each day to the room the place was spotless and very well maintained. Had an amazing stay here.Guest review byLeeanneUnited Kingdom

A great place as a base for a Tenerife tour if you want to stay in one place. If your visit extends for more than 4 days it might be more interesting to move closer to your sightseeing points (example: 3 nights in Santa Cruz, 3 in Puerto de la Cruz, 3 in Playa del Duque - that's what I would have done if I knew how much time I'd spend driving).Guest review byMiguelPortugal - 10.0
The area is perfect for all ages
The area is perfect for all ages It is desired by adults for the wonderful view it offers. The long walks with the different terraces that invite you are a dream. The important thing is that the beach is public everywhere and is not private. Accommodations have very good prices. 4-star hotels are around 120 euros per night. For young people there is nightlife with parties on the seashore. Food is for all tastes. - there are higher prices for quality food as well as lower prices. The menu of the day costs 13 euros.Guest review byGabrielaRomania - 10.0

Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife,...
Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife, almost everything was closed at 21:30-22:00 and there were no people outside either we were on the center of the town or near the plaza. BUT, The island in general is worth it. If you can get outside and go see other towns - villages, it is definitely worth it and be prepared for breathtaking sights, views and amazing monuments. There are a lot sightseeings worth visiting, but Santa Cruz de Tenerife on its own is just not worth it that much (and the parking there is literally impossible)Guest review bykostastsoukkGreece - 6.0
We stayed 4 nights in LC and 7 nights in Adeje.
We stayed 4 nights in LC and 7 nights in Adeje. LC- It’s gone down hill. Streets are tired. People begging. One gentleman I spoke to had his gold chain ripped off his neck in broad daylight while walking with his family. (He was with his wife, daughter and grandson). Wouldn’t go back to LC- Adeje is far more upmarket, nicer and safer. Stayed in Gran TacandeGuest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Local supermarket very handy. Quiet for those that don't like hustle and bustle of a lively resort.
