The location of the hotel was excellent. Its right on the edge of the lake and it was very quiet and peaceful the castle is only a couple of minutes walk away and the harbour and town were less than a 10 minute walk. It's an old building with beautiful old style rooms. Our room was really big with a nice sitting area and a separate kitchenette with a sink, two ring cooker, kettle, fridge and utensils.. Tea, coffee, and sugar was supplied but no milk. The beds was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. It was well stocked with very nice toiletries. The breakfast was excellent. There was a wide variety of both hot and cold foods and extremely tasty. The staff in the hotel were extremely nice and helpful.

Spahotel Casino is located on a private island on Lake Saimaa, 500 m from city center of Savonlinna and the 15th-century Olavinlinna Castle is 1.5 km away.

Beautiful location, tranquillity, fabulous room, cleanliness, eye-pleasing design, exquisite dinner of local fish, great views of the river and city lights on a darkening snowy winter's day, topped by the spa, a relaxing dip in the pool and heat of the sauna.

The place was beautiful and was right by the lake and opposite Olavanlinna so views were superb. The room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable.
